Yo Yo Honey Singh gets emotional, admits to neglecting ex-wife Shalini Talwar under influence of ‘daulat, shohrat, nashe aur aurat’

As an ardent fan of this resilient artist, Yo Yo Honey Singh, I find his journey to be nothing short of inspiring. From the highs of fame and fortune to the lows of addiction and neglect, his life story echoes a powerful rhythm that resonates with many.

Renowned musician Yo Yo Honey Singh has shared insights about how his career success and addiction caused a significant rift in his relationship with his family. Although he has agreed to keep quiet on the topic of his divorce from Shalini Talwar, as per a legal contract, the rapper has admitted to being swayed by various powerful distractions, which led him to neglect his wife.

On January 23rd, 2011, Honey and Shalini exchanged vows, and during their first 9 to 10 months of marriage, things went smoothly according to the singer. However, when his career took off and he fell under the influence of drugs and alcohol, their life took a dramatic turn for the worse. For those unaware, they finalized their divorce sometime between 2022 and 2023.

During a conversation with The Lallantop, Honey Singh stated that our bond wasn’t strong at the time because he was frequently away on travels and this created a rift between us. Unfortunately, he admitted to focusing excessively on wealth, fame, addictions, and relationships with women, which ultimately led him to neglect his family. He also acknowledged engaging in reprehensible actions during that period and coming close to abandoning Shalini.

In the same chat, the singer known as Blue Eyes admitted that several significant figures introduced him to harmful substances. He became so entangled in these substances that he was constantly high for 24 hours a day. As he put it, “For most of the time, I was oblivious to myself and my environment… I made it clear that I never sought rehabilitation as a means to conquer my addictions”, shared Honey Singh.

The singer known as the Crooner from Brown Rang admitted that he reached a point when he decided to stop using all types of substances and confided in his family about his severe mental health struggles. Although he required urgent medical care, his family cautioned him about potential legal consequences from international law firms, given his busy schedule.

Thankfully, Honey chose to focus on his health ahead of work and stayed hidden for about seven years until he was completely healed. Although the artist is now actively promoting his new album, ‘Glory’, a documentary titled ‘The Glorious Struggle of Honey Singh’ is set to premiere soon on Netflix, highlighting his remarkable life and contentious battles.
