‘You, Me and Her’ Is First Movie to Test the Fithian Group’s New Experimental Platform

As a film enthusiast with a penchant for indie romantic-comedies and a soft spot for stories inspired by real-life experiences, I am thrilled about The Fithian Group’s innovative approach to movie distribution through their new platform Attend. Being a regular at independent cinemas, I have often felt the scarcity of mid-range movies and international films seeking a domestic release, and this development seems like a breath of fresh air.

In a groundbreaking move, the independent romantic-comedy titled “You, Me & Her” is set to pioneer the use of an innovative digital and marketing platform developed by The Fithian Group. This platform enables producers and filmmakers to connect directly with cinemas, bypassing the need for a traditional distributor.

Late last year, The Fithian Group was established by John Fithian, a veteran leader who spent almost two decades with the National Association of Theatre Owners (NATO). He formed this group along with his trusted colleagues from NATO, Patrick Corcoran and Jackie Brenneman, who had served alongside him for many years.

This month, the consulting company introduced Attend, their innovative distribution and marketing marketplace currently in its experimental Alpha stage. The objective of Attend is to align a film like “You, Me & Her” with suitable cinemas by analyzing various data. A filmmaker inputs multiple types of data onto the platform, which then uses AI technology to pinpoint where the movie would likely be most successful.

The platform boasts endorsement from around 100 influential figures in the film industry, such as Damien Chazelle, Patty Jenkins, Sean Baker, and Lorenzo de Bonaventura.

The movie titled “You, Me & Her” explores the question of whether a trio relationship could salvage a marriage. This film is helmed by director Dan Levy Dagerman, who has also penned the script alongside his spouse, Selina Ringel. Alongside Ritesh Rajan and Sydney Park, Selina Ringel features in the movie. The supporting cast includes Roberto Aguire, Marianna Burelli, Graham Sibley, and Anna Campbell.

Ringel shared that the movie was born from an event that challenged his understanding of personal identity, societal norms, and sincerity within relationships – something he went through alongside his spouse, Dagerman.

As a gaming enthusiast, I’d say: With mainstream games constantly delayed due to development hiccups brought about by the pandemic and strikes, my new platform, called ‘Attend’, aims to boost the annual game release calendar. It does this by providing game distributors with mid-tier games that have almost vanished from stores, international titles yearning for a domestic launch, and independent games that usually see limited distribution but could potentially attract larger audiences through smart theater selection, scheduling, and marketing strategies based on data.

The Fithian Group, with The Vista Group’s backing and cutting-edge technology, is engaged in creating the platform.

According to Brenneman, there’s a huge potential for reinventing how movies are distributed to theaters and consumed by audiences. The platform ‘Attend’ fosters unique collaboration between filmmakers, theater owners, and marketing professionals to broaden the scope of cinema production. With the project ‘You, Me & Her‘, and Dan and Selina’s openness to innovation, we think it’s an excellent opportunity to create the tools that will form the basis of Attend.
