You Won’t Believe How Easy It Is to Kill Valen Dreth in Oblivion Remastered!

When you begin playing “Oblivion Remastered”, regardless of the race you choose, Valen Dreth will persistently bother and annoy you until the Emperor requires your cell for an escape. Some players might remember Valen Dreth’s cruel words, but fortunately, if they can join the Dark Brotherhood, they have the option to avenge themselves by killing him for his wrongdoings.

In the game ‘Oblivion Remastered’, players have an opportunity to eliminate Valen Dreth. However, this task is not straightforward; it requires careful investigation and covert actions rather than just plunging a sword into him. The fortunate part is that the player gets to carry out this mission.

How to Get the Scheduled for Execution Quest in Oblivion Remastered

After finishing the Accidents Happen mission for the Dark Brotherhood, players can return to the Sanctuary to converse with Vicente Valtieri and request a fresh assignment, which leads to the Scheduled for Execution quest. This Dark Brotherhood task involves revisiting the Imperial City Prison, the location where the adventure initially began, to eliminate Valen Dreth, an aggressive Dark Elf who was rather impolite and hard to forget.

How to Sneak Through the Imperial Prison in Oblivion Remastered

Players should first revisit the Imperial City’s sewer system, located in the northeastern part of the city. Although this sewer was previously locked following the tutorial mission, Valtieri has given players a key for access. Upon entering the Imperial City Sewers, players can follow a straight path to the north, encountering and defeating mudcrabs and rats along the way. However, it’s advisable to create a quicksave before venturing into the Sanctum.

Inside the Sanctum, players should find two guards chatting. To progress northward via the open gate, wait for their conversation to conclude, ensuring the guard has moved away from the room first. Maintain stealth by minimizing noise (avoiding loud footsteps) and sticking to the shadows. Be patient, let the guards complete their patrols, then follow the trail leading into the Imperial Underground.

To reach the Imperial Prison, players should stick to the designated path and be mindful of the roaming guards in this concluding area. There’s no necessity to collect anything in these sub-areas, so sneak past them undetected for a stealthy approach. If you wish to secure bonus rewards upon completion of the mission, refrain from engaging or eliminating the guards.

How to Kill Valen Dreth and Escape in Oblivion Remastered

Following a successful evasion of the watchful guards, gamers will find themselves at the Imperial Prison, where their adventure began within the same cell. Upon entering, players are advised to remain still and pay close attention to the dialogue between a guard and Valen Dreth. Since this conversation may stretch on, it’s best to wait for it to conclude before the guard exits the room.

After the guard steps away, make your way out of your cell and move towards the table on the left side. There, you’ll find two sets of keys: one for Valen Dreth’s cell and another for the Imperial Prison’s exit. Secure these keys to gain access to different methods of eliminating Valen Dreth. The most straightforward approach is using a bow and arrow since he can’t escape this way. Alternatively, you can unlock his cell with any weapon of your choice, but remember that when his cell opens, he’ll attempt to flee.

Since Valen has perished, the players find themselves faced with two choices. They can choose to exit the same way they entered or attempt a stealthy escape through the Bastion. The Bastion is merely a solitary chamber guarded by only two individuals. However, once players manage to reach the door, they will not encounter any further resistance from the guards, and they’ll have the freedom to quickly teleport back to Valtier within the Dark Brotherhood’s Sanctuary.

Earning the lives of all guards spared and solely focusing on defeating Valen Dreth, rewards you with the “Scales of Merciless Judgment” – an assorted loot that enhances various statistics while it remains in your possession.
