He reassured viewers that while the new film will touch upon these losses, it promises to maintain its comedic essence as it catches up with other familiar characters from the “Friday” franchise. Additionally, he subtly hinted that “Last Friday” would focus on revisiting the family 10 years later in 2025, although he declined to reveal any particular plot details.

Cube clarified, ‘This is an important matter we need to tackle.’ These aren’t just film characters; they’re John Witherspoon, Tiny Lister, and AJ Johnson – people we care about deeply. We must address their situation. However, we’re not only making a movie but also keeping it funny and entertaining. It’s about spending time with familiar faces, catching up on their lives. There’s also space to introduce new characters. I always viewed this project as akin to ‘Star Wars’; characters can come and go whenever they please. Will Chris Tucker Return in Last Friday?

It’s uncertain who else from the original franchise will be part of the sequel, except possibly Mike Epps as Daymond “Day Day” Jones. There’s speculation about Chris Tucker reprising his role as Smokey, Craig’s friend in the first Friday. However, Tucker didn’t return for either Next Friday or Friday After Next, suggesting he might not be returning for Last Friday either. When asked about Smokey’s potential return, Ice Cube hinted that it depends on Chris Tucker.
