Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma arrive at Bandra Family Court for hearing on divorce proceedings; WATCH

In my role as a dedicated follower, I’d like to share that fortunately, the Bombay High Court granted an exception to the standard six-month cooling-off period after Yuzvendra Chahal and his wife, Dhanashree Verma, submitted their divorce petition. The court directed the Family Court to settle their divorce case by Thursday, March 20, 2025. Consequently, both Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma were spotted at the Bandra Family Court, accompanied by their legal representatives, attending the divorce hearing.

On the courthouse steps, Yuzvendra Chahal was seen strolling along with his legal representatives, dressed entirely in black and wearing a protective mask. Accompanying him was Dhanashree, who was also present at the court with her legal team for the divorce hearings. The judge, Justice Madhav Jamdar, indicated that Chahal would be unable to attend from March 21st, 2025, due to his upcoming involvement in the Indian Premier League (IPL) season.

This year on February 5th, the cricketer and Dhanashree Verma jointly submitted divorce papers at the family court, asking for an exemption from the required waiting period due to their mutually agreed upon divorce settlement.

On February 20, the family court initially declined to waive the necessary six-month waiting period, leading the couple to contest this decision in the higher court. As stipulated by the Hindu Marriage Act, a couple must wait this time before their divorce petition can be granted.

As an over-the-moon fanboy, let me share some thrilling news: Justice Madhav Jamdar of the esteemed High Court graciously accepted our petition and granted us a waiver! To ensure that my beloved hero, Chahal, can continue to shine in the IPL without any distractions, his legal representative has informed the family court that he might not be available after March 21. In light of this, we humbly request the family court to make a decisive ruling on our divorce petition by March 20, so that our beloved star can focus solely on his game!

As per a report by Bar and Bench, it’s been decided in the divorce proceedings between Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma that he will pay her a sum of approximately Rs 4.75 crore as alimony.

Chahal has so far remitted INR 2.37 crores out of the total sum, with the rest being proposed as a permanent alimony payment once the divorce proceedings are legally concluded by Judge Madhav Jamdar.

In 2020, I was honored to become part of a union with Dhanashree Verma, my beloved partner. For the past two years prior to that, we found ourselves living apart from one another. However, five years into our marriage, we made the difficult decision to part ways and filed for divorce in 2025.

Before the official statement was made, whispers about their split had begun circulating on social media due to fans noticing that they had stopped following each other on Instagram.
