Yves Mathieu East Joins  ‘Survival of the Thickest’ Season 2 (Exclusive)

As a dedicated follower of the entertainment industry, I am thrilled to see the multi-talented Yves Mathieu East joining the second season of “Survival of the Thickest.” With his impressive modeling career and activism background, East is an inspiring figure who embodies both style and substance.

Yves Mathieu East has joined the second season of Survival of the Thickest as a guest star.

A versatile artist, East, is shifting focus to television. Upcoming projects include a role in the next installment of A24 and Netflix’s scripted comedy, collaborating with Anderson .Paak and Tika Sumpter among other stars. East’s modeling resume boasts campaigns for Burberry, GQ, Kenneth Cole, Puma, and an invitation to join Beyoncé’s Drip 2 Ivy Park campaign.

1. He champions various causes such as promoting LGBTQ+ rights, advocating for black queer freedom, enhancing mental health understanding via the Jed Foundation, and pushing for improved reproductive healthcare availability.

The filming for the second part of “Survival of the Thickest” has commenced. Among the new cast members joining this season are Jonathan Chad Higginbotham, Deon Cole, Alecsys Proctor-Turner, Jerrie Johnson, Celisse, Rolonda Watts, Michael Rishawn, Monét X Change, and RonReaco Lee.

Mickey Dolans, Tasha Smith, Tone Bell, Liza Treyge, Peppermint, and Marouane Zotti rejoin the main cast in this production, with Danielle Sanchez-Witzel and Michelle Buteau co-creating and sharing executive producer duties.

As a woman of color who has struggled to find representation in media that truly reflects my experiences and identity, I am thrilled about the upcoming series “Love Life & V-Necks” starring Mavis Beaumont (Buteau). Being a plus-size Black woman myself, I can relate to Mavis’s journey of seeking love while navigating through societal expectations and stereotypes. The series being inspired by Buteau’s book of the same name adds an authentic touch that is often missing in mainstream media.

Apart from “Survival of the Thickest,” it’s been announced that East will also be featured in a forthcoming gothic romance independent film currently under production.

Amy Aniobi and Grace Edwards co-lead the production of the Netflix series in its second season. A24 and Anne Hong from Mosaic are additionally involved as executive producers.
