Zachary Levi Does Not Feel “Canceled” After Endorsing Donald Trump

As an admirer of the dynamic and resilient Zachary Levi, I find it truly inspiring to witness his unwavering spirit in the face of adversity. His recent foray into political discourse, particularly his support for Donald Trump, has undeniably stirred controversy within Hollywood’s often one-dimensional landscape. Yet, despite the swirling winds of criticism and the whispers of cancel culture, Levi remains steadfast, continuing to secure roles in high-profile projects.

Zachary Levi, known for his role in Shazam! and contributing to discussions, disagreed with suggestions that he has recently lost jobs due to endorsing Donald Trump for President this year. On Bill Maher’s Club Random podcast, instead of creating an unwelcoming atmosphere, they discussed Levi’s career in entertainment amidst his unique stance as a conservative voice in Hollywood. In response to being labeled as ‘canceled’, Levi stated:

To clarify, I haven’t made a decision about supporting Trump. The long-term consequences are still uncertain to me. Regarding my professional work, I’ve had several jobs in various stages of production, and none of these have been affected by my personal political views. None of the producers or studios associated with those projects have expressed concerns about my involvement.

In September, Levi publicly endorsed Donald Trump, the host of The Apprentice, and has since been openly critical of the COVID-19 vaccine. This viewpoint is shared by many who lack medical education but have access to YouTube. Most recently, the actor from An American Carol has faced criticism for a post on Instagram where he suggested that his late co-star from She Loves Me died from “turbo cancer” (no information found on WebMD) due to the life-saving vaccine.

The Cancellation Myth in Hollywood

In Hollywood, there are numerous legends about mythical figures – for instance, the Four-Quadrant blockbuster, a lucrative streaming strategy, and what is often referred to as “cancellation.” The notion of cancellation due to personal beliefs took root in the mid-2010s, stemming from legitimate blacklisting due to appalling, frequently unlawful behavior and the escalation of the #MeToo movement. In an attempt to appropriate victimhood, many mediocre talents sought refuge with the reactionary right-wing propaganda machine as their mainstream popularity dwindled. By confining themselves within conservative media circles, they merely swapped a broader audience for a more specialized one – one that prioritizes political jabs over genuine entertainment enjoyment. Consequently, opportunities still exist, but now they are primarily in smaller productions and combating the so-called “woke mind virus” (no confirmed cases on WebMD).

Zachary Levi expressed on another Instagram post that many individuals within the entertainment industry, particularly in Hollywood, are hesitant to openly declare their support for Donald Trump or conservative views because they fear backlash. This is why you don’t often see them and why they aren’t as visible or influential. They understand there could be consequences for such actions.

It’s not clear if there are any consequences due to conflicting reports about the situation. Interestingly, Levi is involved in an action film titled “Hotel Tehran” and has completed work on two other projects this year.
