Zayed Khan blames ‘distractions’ for Hrithik Roshan-Sussanne Khan’s divorce; admits Saba Azad is a ‘lovely lady’: ‘We are a modern family

As someone who has had the privilege of witnessing the resilience and grace displayed by Zayed Khan throughout his life, I find his recent statements about family, relationships, and the complexities of modern living particularly poignant. Growing up in a city like Mumbai, where distractions abound and the pressures on marriages can be immense, it takes a special kind of strength to navigate such challenges with maturity and understanding.

In 2014, after 14 years of marriage, Hrithik Roshan and Sussanne Khan went separate ways. Despite the split, they maintain a cordial relationship. Lately, Sussanne’s brother Zayed Khan, an actor, attributed ‘distractions’ as the reason for their divorce and praised Hrithik’s girlfriend, Saba Azad, as a remarkable woman.

In a recent chat on Subhojit Ghosh’s YouTube channel, Zayed Khan opened up about his relationship with Sussanne Khan, his sister. He also touched upon the period when Sussanne and Hrithik Roshan decided to separate. During this time, Sussanne endured much criticism and negative feedback regarding her choice.

In a recent comment, the actor from Main Hoon Na shared his thoughts on handling challenging situations. He stressed the significance of families banding together to offer mutual support. He described his family as a sturdy rock, explaining that when one member faces difficulty, everyone feels the impact equally. “There’s not much I can add,” he said, “These are realities we all must face maturely. Such situations can happen to anyone.

Zayed went on to emphasize, “Additionally, consider our urban surroundings; they offer numerous distractions. This isn’t Dalhousie. Surviving here is challenging for many marriages, not just my own family. To reiterate, we are an immovable power and an indomitable entity.

Regardless of their separation, Hrithik and Sussanne maintain a friendly bond not just between themselves, but also with their respective new partners. As Zayed put it, “We are a contemporary family. The old saying goes, ‘Blood is thicker than water.’ If two people aren’t meant to be together, but they share numerous other commonalities, one should respect and support them.

As far as he’s concerned, family, kids, and obligations are the most important things above their relationship. He considers himself to be quite open-minded when it comes to family matters, as long as everyone respects each other. The actor emphasized that they pass on such values not only to themselves but also to their children.

The 48-year-old shared that they always refrain from criticizing any party, no matter the circumstances. They explained that they help others understand that certain situations will unfold as they are meant to. Consequently, in various scenarios, they focus on maintaining a positive outlook by prioritizing happiness over sadness.

I’m equally close to my brother Hrithik. He’s an exceptional individual, truly golden-hearted. His partner, Saba, is just as lovely and remarkable. The same can be said about Arslan; he’s a fine young man too. Life just keeps moving on, that’s all.

Additionally, Zayed shared that his relationship with his sister is remarkably close, akin to that of twins despite their age difference. He also explained that he’s always aware if she encounters any difficulties. Referring to her as the ‘Philippe Starck of India’, he lavished praise on her, stating that she’s not only a delightful sister but also courageous, talented, and self-assured – essentially, a tigress in her own right.

Hrithik Roshan and Sussanne Khan exchanged vows back in the year 2000, but their journey together came to an end after 13 years in 2013. Their divorce was finalized in the year 2014. Despite their separation, they remain united as parents for their sons, Hrehaan and Hridhaan.
