Zooms for Kamala Harris Draw Six-Digit Attendance, Break Records and Raise Millions

As a dedicated gamer and follower of politics, I can’t help but be amazed by the unprecedented show of support for Kamala Harris‘ presidential campaign. The energy and excitement around her nomination have been palpable, with record-breaking attendance numbers at virtual rallies and high-profile supporters joining in.

Over the past few days, more than half a million people who support Kamala Harris have joined her camp as the presumptive Democratic nominee. The number of attendees in her virtual rallies via Zoom has hit new heights, reaching six digits.

On Sunday, after President Biden declared he wouldn’t be running for re-election, over 44,000 Black women rallied together to boost Vice President Harris’s presidential campaign. Notable figures like Yvette Nicole Brown and Jenifer Lewis lent their support, while the group managed to gather an impressive $1.5 million in donations.

Thousands of Black men participated in a call earlier this week, which was followed by Zoom meetings for white women supporting the LGBTQ community, as well as those identifying as South Asian and other groups.

On Thursdays, over 100,000 people joined a virtual gathering for white women, an attendance that was so immense it led to technical difficulties, prompting many to switch to watching the livestream on YouTube instead. Over 25,000 more individuals joined there.

I was thrilled to see Hollywood’s diverse representation in various interest groups. I personally joined the South Asian call, where Mindy Kaling graced us with her presence. On the other hand, during the LGBTQ call, I had the pleasure of seeing George Takei, Zachary Quinto, Raven-Symoné, Sophia Bush, Ashlyn Harris, and Brian Michael Smith in attendance. Among them, Justin Tranter, the co-writer of Chappelle Roan’s “Good Luck Babe,” made an incredible announcement that he would be donating a substantial $20,000 for the cause.

Katie McGrath, Connie Britton, and Pink, among others, have recently added their names to the cause advocated by white women. pink is said to have quickly joined following her departure from a concert stage in Sweden.

Another Zoom call, women for Harris, is scheduled for this weekend.
