So, Infini got hacked, huh? $50 million just *poof* gone like that. And guess what? They’re suing!
They sent a legal notice on the blockchain. How futuristic is that? Like, “Hey, you! Yeah, you with the stolen money. Court time, buddy!”
Blockchain: The New Legal Playground
Turns out, on February 24, Infini’s blockchain got a little breachy. Lost a cool $49.5 million in USDC. Initially, they were like, “It’s a hacker!” But nope, it was just some ex-employee. Classic.
So, Infini’s big daddy company, BP SG Investment Holding Limited, was like, “Let’s sue ’em!” And they did, in Hong Kong. They even got an injunction against the stolen money. Nice move.
But here’s the kicker: They served the legal papers on the blockchain. I mean, who even does that? They named and shamed this developer, Chen Shaxuan, and three mystery folks who probably thought they were so sneaky.
“Hey, if you touch those funds, you’re in trouble. We’re talking 49,516,662.977 USDC worth of trouble,” Infini basically said.
Oh, and if you’re thinking of buying those stolen coins? Think again. No legal shield for you, my friend. The accused better show up on March 27 or else.
Before all this courtroom drama, Infini tried to play nice. They were like, “Hey, just give us back 80% and we’ll call it even.” But nope, crickets. So, they lawyered up.
Blockchain: The New Sheriff in Town
And get this: This isn’t even the first time Hong Kong has used blockchain to serve up some legal whoop-ass. They’ve tagged scam wallets with digital police tape. So, if you’re dealing with those, you’re basically asking for trouble.
