Unlike the comedic tone of “Heads of State”, it may not be as humorous, but it shares similarities with the humor found in the movie starring Dwayne Johnson and Idris Elba.

A Genuinely Funny Two-Hander
Often overlooked and underestimated as one of the best films from the past decade, Shane Black’s The Nice Guys delivers a side-splitting detective tale with a neo-noir atmosphere. As a fellow cinephile, I can’t help but marvel at the remarkable camaraderie John Cena and Idris Elba forged in “The Suicide Squad.” This dynamic shines brilliantly in their electrifying performances in “Heads of State.” In the James Gunn-directed film, you’ll find Elba’s Bloodsport locking horns with Cena’s Peacemaker time and again. Their chemistry is undeniable, and the movie offers a delightful blend of wit, humor, and unconventional takes on the superhero universe. Moreover, the action sequences are nothing short of spectacular!
The Suicide Squad paved the way for Heads of State and is a definite watch. Contrary to its nearly identical title, this movie packs a punch compared to 2016’s Suicide Squad. Unfortunately, it was overlooked by many viewers at its release. After watching Heads of State, it offers the best opportunity to spend some extra time with Elba and Cena.
