12th Fail actress Medha Shankr doesn’t call life before film ‘a struggle’; reveals Vikrant Massey's advice when she became national crush

As an ardent fan, I can’t help but be utterly captivated by Medha Shankr’s inspiring journey! From being an unassuming actress to becoming the national crush overnight with her exceptional portrayal of Shraddha Joshi in 12th Fail, she has truly proven that dreams do come true.

In the 2023 film titled “12th Fail,” Medha Shankar shared the screen with Vikrant Massey. Her portrayal of Shraddha Joshi earned her widespread acclaim and admiration for her acting skills. As a result, her popularity on social media soared, earning her the title of ‘national crush.’ Recently, Medha disclosed some advice that Vikrant offered during that period, and she also expressed that she didn’t view her life prior to “12th Fail” as a struggle.

During a chat with Bombay Times, Medha Shankar shared how her life has undergone a remarkable transformation following the triumph of 12th Fail. She disclosed that esteemed filmmakers, whom she had always aspired to work with, have ceased requesting auditions and instead are expressing faith in her talent.

Medha mentioned that she hadn’t anticipated encountering such vast possibilities quite so soon. She disclosed that she had failed the 12th grade during her fifth year in Mumbai and further stated, “It wasn’t a walk in the park, but I prefer not to use the term ‘struggle.’ It’s become rather overused.”

Expressing admiration for Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s depiction of female characters, she shared her belief that the audience would take a liking to her character, Shraddha Joshi, in the film. She revealed that both the director and her co-star, Vikrant Massey, encouraged her not to alter herself after gaining prominence as the nation’s crush.

Quoting Vikrant’s sage advice, Medha replied, “When I became known as the national sweetheart, he reminded me, ‘Medha, always keep in mind that everything is fleeting, and focus on what truly matters.’ She found this idea touching and added that while she appreciated her success, she never let it define her.”

As an ardent admirer, I can’t help but express my excitement for the upcoming biographical drama, “12th Fail,” gracing our screens on October 27, 2023! This enthralling tale is inspired by the lives of the valiant IPS officer Manoj Kumar Sharma and the resilient IRS officer Shraddha Joshi.
