20 Years Later, the Nike Dunk Low "Silver Surfer" Returns

As a long-time sneakerhead with memories of the original “Silver Surfer” Dunk Low release etched in my mind, I can say that this reissue is music to my ears! Back then, I was just a kid, scouring eBay for any chance to cop a pair. Now, here we are, 18 years later, and Nike’s bringing back the glory days.

Product Information:

Recently, Nike has been generously releasing highly sought-after items for collectors to acquire (or update their old ones). The most recent design coming back is the “Silver Surfer” colorway from 2004’s Dunk Low. Among several Marvel-themed shoes that were unofficially launched in the past, this re-release aligns with KITH and ASICS’ collaboration with the franchise, particularly a “Silver Surfer” version of the GEL-KAYANO 14.

For this updated version, Nike has kept the original design with its multi-material upper in a silver, blue, and red color scheme. However, the sockliner’s distinctive graphic pattern has been swapped for conventional Nike branding. The upper features a shimmery textile foundation accented by vibrant overlays. The Swooshes and tongue branding display shades of blue, while the base color for the tongue tag and heel tab is red. White appears on the midsole, and gray covers the outsole.

At the time of writing, Nike has not yet confirmed when the “Silver Surfer” colorway of the Dunk Low will be making its grand return. That being said, it is currently expected to drop via Nike SNKRS and select retailers on September 5 at a price of $125 USD. Stay tuned as we await official confirmation from the Swoosh.
