As a connoisseur of Hindi cinema who has witnessed the evolution of storytelling over three decades, I must say that Hum Aapke Hain Koun! remains a timeless masterpiece. The film embodies the essence of Indian family values, beautifully portrayed by an ensemble cast that has left an indelible mark on our collective cinematic memory.
1994 saw Sooraj Barjatya’s directorial masterpiece, Hum Aapke Hain Koun!, grace the screens of Hindi cinema. This timeless film boasted a talented ensemble cast, including Salman Khan, Madhuri Dixit, Mohnish Bahl, and Renuka Shahane. Supporting roles were played by Alok Nath, Reema Lagoo, and Anupam Kher. As of Monday (August 5), Hum Aapke Hain Koun! celebrates three decades since its release, and Anupam Kher shared fond memories of working with the HAHK team on social media.
Anupam Kher posted a few behind-the-scenes snapshots on Instagram from the Hum Aapke Hain Koun! film set. One photo showcases the well-known scene with Anupam at the center, surrounded by the rest of the cast. Another image captures him alongside director Sooraj and co-stars Madhuri Dixit, Renuka Shahane, and Alok Nath.
“30 years of Hum Aapke Hain Koun!” the caption reads.

For those unfamiliar, Anupam Kher experienced temporary facial paralysis while filming Hum Aapke Hain Koun. Yet, this skilled actor successfully completed the Antakshri scene from the 1994 production.
In an appearance on Aap Ki Adalat, the actor admitted that Madhuri Dixit and Salman Khan initially thought he was exaggerating for comedic effect due to his facial expressions. Later, he disclosed this to them about his health situation. The actor from Hera Pheri added this detail.
Besides HAHK (Hindu American Hindu Kirk Center), Anupam Kher is widely recognized for his roles in movies such as Saaransh, Tezaab, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, The Accidental Prime Minister, Baby, Special 26, and numerous others.
Earlier this year, I was thrilled to catch my favorite actor in the magical children’s movie, Chhota Bheem and the Curse of Damyaan. Now, my heart skips a beat as I eagerly await his upcoming projects – The Signature and Vijay 69!
