If you’re among many Americans who enjoy the occasional dramatic romance or are fans of popular romantic comedies, chances are you also spend some time each year watching various Hallmark TV movies. Once you get into the habit of regularly watching these beloved films, you’ll start to identify (and even eagerly await) titles starring your favorite Hallmark actors.
Sabrina The Teenage Witch (Andrew Walker)
If you haven’t watched the popular comedy series “Sabrina the Teenage Witch”, then you’ve missed out on Andrew Walker, who played Cole Harper, one of Sabrina’s colleagues at Scorch Magazine. Though Cole could be arrogant and sometimes disagreed with our teen witch, he occasionally offered her sound guidance, and it seemed that he harbored a secret affection for her, which made him less of a villain.
Letterkenny (Tyler Hynes)
It’s understandable if you didn’t notice Tyler Hynes in Seasons 8-10 of the popular Canadian comedy show “Letterkenny,” given the abundance of eccentric characters. In these seasons, Hynes played Dierks Rensburg-van-Koeverdan, a charismatic but much-disliked boyfriend of Katy who repeatedly failed to adhere to Wayne’s rule of treating Katy well, ultimately facing consequences for his actions.
Battlestar Galactica (Paul Campbell)
As a gaming enthusiast, let’s dive into the third character from that Hallmark series franchise, who goes by the name of the Wise Man. You’ll get another chance to enjoy Paul Campbell’s performance here. One sci-fi show that might have caught some off guard was the revival of “Battlestar Galactica,” which aired on Syfy from 2004 to 2009. In Seasons 1 and 2, I found myself in the role of Billy Keikeya, a compassionate aid to President Roslin after the Cylon attack decimated the colonies.
Sister, Sister (Tamera Mowry-Housley)
Back in the ’90s, it’s important not to overlook the show that catapulted Tamera Mowry-Housley and her twin sister Tia into stardom – Sister, Sister. Over the course of his career, Luke Macfarlane has graced our screens in several cherished Hallmark films such as “Catch Me If You Claus,” “A Magical Christmas Village,” and “Christmas in My Heart.” However, it was his role as Aaron in the hit LGBTQ+ romantic comedy “Bros” that truly left a mark on moviegoers in 2022.

As a devoted fan, I’d like to highlight Alicia Witt, another resilient actor who made her mark on television back in the ’90s. She gracefully portrayed Cybill Shepherd’s teenage daughter on her self-titled sitcom, and since then, she’s graced our screens in numerous movies and series. However, it’s her latest creation, the chilling horror movie “Longlegs,” that has been hailed as a film that becomes increasingly terrifying with each passing moment.

From 2004-2012, it’s hard to forget the massive success of the nighttime soap opera “Desperate Housewives” during primetime TV. Back then, before I knew her from movies such as “Morning Show Mysteries”, “A Family Christmas Gift”, “Holiday Heritage” and the “Christmas in Evergreen” series, she was already a beloved figure to me and countless others as Officer Judy Hoffs on the Fox show, “21 Jump Street”. The teenage cops-in-disguise drama brought us close!
Spy Kids (Alexa PenaVega)
Alexa PenaVega initially gained prominence as one of the main actors in the “Spy Kids” series, where she portrayed Carmen Cortez in the first four movies, but she has since become more recognized for her roles in a string of Hallmark films, many of which she made with her spouse (who I’ll discuss shortly).

If you do that often, you will surely come upon the star of movies like ‘Tis the Season to be Merry, Valentine in the Vineyard and Frozen in Love, Rachael Leigh Cook. Her starring role as Laney Boggs in 1999’s She’s All That has cemented her place in movie history.
Girlfriends’ Guide To Divorce (Will Kemp)
During the run of the Bravo dramedy Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce, a number of other characters from Hallmark also made appearances (such as Marcus Rosner and Victor Webster), but none left quite the impression that Will Kemp did while playing the charming vegan baker, Scott, over his 15 episodes.
Big Time Rush (Carlos PenaVega)
Absolutely, I can tell you that Carlos PenaVega, known for being part of the Big Time Rush band and their self-titled Nickelodeon show, is often seen acting alongside his Spy Kids wife, Alexa, in movies like Love at Sea, Love in the Limelight, and Never Too Late to Celebrate on Hallmark.
Teen Wolf (Jill Wagner)
Back in 2011, a captivating supernatural series that left quite an impression on MTV was none other than “Teen Wolf,” a grittier reincarnation of the 1985 film by the same name. When I wasn’t busy working on heartwarming movies like “Christmas Cookies” and “Autumn Dreams,” I had the pleasure of recurring as werewolf hunter Kate Argent in this spine-tingling series.
The O.C. (Autumn Reeser)
Apart from her roles in shows like “Season for Love,” “Junebug,” and “The Wedding Veil” trilogy, you might not be aware that Autumn Reeser also portrayed the ambitious and malicious character Taylor Townsend during Seasons 3 and 4 of the popular teen drama series, “The O.C.
John Tucker Must Die (Jesse Metcalfe)
Jesse Metcalfe played a significant role in the first season of “Desperate Housewives,” but later transitioned to lead roles in films such as “John Tucker Must Die.” In this movie, he embodies the character John Tucker, a popular high school basketball player who is exposed for cheating on three different girlfriends.

As a gamer putting on my superhero spectacles, I’d venture to say that Kristoffer Polaha’s role in “Wonder Woman 1984” might be the shortest, but it could arguably carry the greatest weight among this lineup. Known for his charm in movies like “A Biltmore Christmas,” “The Dater’s Handbook,” and the “Mystery 101” series, Polaha briefly brought to life the man whose body became a vessel for the magically resurrected spirit of Steve Trevor – a pivotal twist that left quite an impact on the story.
One Tree Hill (Bethany Joy Lenz, Hilarie Burton, Chad Michael Murray)
It’s great to acknowledge our gratitude towards the teen soap “One Tree Hill,” which ran for nine seasons, as it provided us not just one but three talented actors for Hallmark fans. As a devoted fan, I’m well acquainted with your knack for portraying clever and captivating characters in Hallmark movies such as “Wedding at Graceland,” “Sweet Pecan Summer,” and the “Haul Out the Holly” series. However, if you dare to explore Wes Brown’s performance in Season 2 of HBO’s supernatural sensation, “True Blood,” you’ll encounter a far cry from the characters you’ve grown accustomed to. Here, Wes Brown embodied Luke McDonald, a fervent adversary of vampires and magical beings, belonging to a hate-group, who meets an unexpected and startling fate.
Gilmore Girls (Chad Michael Murray)
It’s regrettable news for all the “One Tree Hill” devotees, but it was Tristin Dugray from “Gilmore Girls” who paved the way for Chad Michael Murray’s character Lucas Scott to shine. Notably, Jodie Sweetin, who plays Stephanie Tanner, has appeared in films such as “Merry & Bright”, “A Cozy Christmas Inn”, and the “Jane Mysteries” franchise.
JAG (Catherine Bell)
While countless admirers cherish Catherine Bell for her seven-season role as The Good Witch’s Cassie Nightingale, there is an equally large number of fans who appreciate her portrayal of Lieutenant Colonel Sarah MacKenzie over ten seasons on the naval legal drama, JAG, which gave birth to the long-lasting NCIS series.

In simpler terms, the romantic comedy “Two Weeks Notice” starring Sandra Bullock and Hugh Grant might turn out to be more appreciated than people currently think in the future. This role is relatively minor, but it plays a significant part in helping George, played by Grant, realize his mistakes.
