As a lifestyle expert with a keen eye for nostalgia, I must say that witnessing the camaraderie between Kajol and Saif Ali Khan in their unseen video from the Bekhudi sets is nothing short of heartwarming. The dance rehearsal, filled with laughter and shared memories, serves as a reminder of the timeless bond that transcends the confines of a film set.
In 1992, the movie “Bekhudi” starring Kajol and Kamal Sadanah was released. On July 31, 2024, it marked its 32nd anniversary since release. Despite Rahul Rawail’s direction receiving mixed reviews, the film remains etched in the memories of movie enthusiasts.
Not too long ago, Kajol shared an unseen video featuring Saif Ali Khan, which they filmed on set, along with a heartfelt message of gratitude. For those who may not know, Saif initially intended to launch his acting career with Bekhudi, but he was ultimately turned down.

On July 31st (back then), Kajol shared a video on Instagram celebrating Bekhudi’s 32nd anniversary. In the post, she danced with Saif Ali Khan from the Bekhudi set. Towards the end of their dance practice, Kajol blushed and gave Saif a warm hug.
In a post, Kajol wrote, “I’ve been working on ‘Bekhudi’ for 32 years now, and I’m grateful to say that my worries and faith remain the same (with a humorous expression) #32yearsofbekhudi #thebeginning.”

When Saif Ali Khan recalled being fired from Bekhudi
In an interview with Mumbai Mirror, Saif once shared that he was removed from the 1992 film Bekhudi, originally intended as his Bollywood debut, because the director thought he wasn’t showing enough enthusiasm. Nevertheless, Saif made his debut in the 1993 Yash Chopra film Parampara instead.
Speaking about his initial experience on a movie set, he shared with the platform that he was working on a music video, alongside director Rahul Rawail and actress Kajol.
In the process, I found myself forcefully navigating through what appeared to be false spider webs and eventually burst forth, belting out the lyrics, “On the Path of Desire, Why So Much Fear?” The challenge lay in shifting my emotional delivery from singing “On the Path of Desire” to expressing “Why So Much Fear.”
Saif continued by stating that while he might manage it now, at one time, fresh from a boarding school in England, he was terrified. He admitted that his performance must have been poor since director Rahul Rawail quickly dismissed him, claiming he lacked enthusiasm. To be honest, that scene was particularly bad, he added.
Meanwhile, Bekhudi also starred Tanuja, Ajay Mankotia, Farida Jalal, and others.
