However, don’t be surprised if it strays from perfection every now and then.

In numerous action-packed films and series, there might be moments that seem a bit over-the-top or unrealistic. Sometimes, the pace of events becomes so fast that common sense struggles to catch up, yet this doesn’t diminish the enjoyment factor. Audiences have grown accustomed to such instances. Reacher Fails to Kill Quinn

In the poignant scene of the series “Reacher,” one of the saddest moments occurs when the main character, during a flashback to his military policeman days, discovers his protege, Dominique Kohl, dead. We later learn that she was taken captive, tormented, and murdered by Quinn after attempting to apprehend him. Upon finding Kohl’s lifeless body, Reacher searches the compound for the antagonist, shoots him, and pushes him off a cliff. Remarkably, it is revealed much later that Quinn miraculously survived; the bullet lodged in his skull but failed to take his life.

Shoot and Go?

In the series, Reacher is typically depicted as being highly detailed in his work and possessing extensive knowledge about human anatomy. However, the show seems to imply that even with such expertise, Reacher was uncertain about the precise spot to shoot Quinn to guarantee his death at close range. Moreover, it appears questionable that he would shove Quinn off a cliff without first checking if he was still alive or not, which comes across as reckless behavior for someone of Reacher’s caliber.

An Unlikely Weapon Choice

“A Night at the Symphony” (Season 2, Episode 4)

It’s not right to let plotters escape unpunished. In one of the funniest scenes, Jack Reacher understands he can’t catch a fleeing man in a car. He momentarily vanishes, and then surprisingly, a grille is hurled at the vehicle from a great distance, causing it to halt. Later, Reacher is spotted sprinting towards the car, coming from a direction opposite where the grille was thrown.

Stop, Or… Reacher Will Throw a Grill at You

In this scenario, one might wonder why such a large man, like Reacher, wouldn’t be running in the direction of where the grill originated instead of using it as a projectile. Such an action seems more fitting for low-quality TV shows rather than a critically acclaimed Prime Video series. It appears immature, excessive, and overly dramatic. Whether Lee Child found it acceptable or not is uncertain, but it’s reasonable to assume that he wouldn’t have endorsed such a scene.

Reacher Hides a Badge in a Pillow Case

“Smackdown” (Season 3, Episode 5)

Precise Reacher leaves viewers astonished once more as he secretly conceals Duffy’s DEA badge within a pillowcase in Beck’s manor. During an intense gunfight, the central character locates the badge and, showing remarkable foresight, chooses to stash it in a spot where even a housekeeping staff member could discover it.

Risky Evidence

In most cases, Reacher wouldn’t risk something like this. Here’s an idea: Instead of carrying that badge around, why not simply leave it behind? Duffy can always get another one. Alternatively, he could conceal it among the rocks near the shore by the mansion for safekeeping. Given his military background, we know he’s well-equipped to handle tricky situations like this.

Reacher Doesn’t Get Hit by Bullets

Jack Reacher, a towering figure, stands taller than any action movie hero one might envision. Interestingly, he’s never been struck by bullets, not even grazed – quite remarkable! There have been instances where he was under heavy fire, particularly during the forest skirmish reminiscent of Rambo in Season 3. Despite being the main target on numerous occasions, nothing seems to penetrate his robust physique.

Incompetent Shooters?

It’s hard to believe every foe I encounter is a lousy shot, given my size. Even an average Joe could manage to hit me once or twice. It’d be interesting to see Reacher patching up some wounds now and then. He seems like the type who can endure quite a bit of pain without flinching.

“The Man Goes Through” (Season 2, Episode 7)

Reacher, disguised as a doctor, and Neagley slip through the hospital hallways and infiltrate a ward to question the hitman who was struck by a vehicle in the previous episode. They confront him, with Reacher placing his hands around the man’s throat, issuing a stern warning that he would “rip out your windpipe, and the last thing you’ll think before that is ‘Holy smokes, he actually did it.'” However, Reacher makes clear that this brutal act will only occur if the man lets out a scream.

Here to Injure, Not Heal

Is it plausible for a massive, muscular individual to masquerade as a doctor without causing alarm? Given that Jack Reacher’s size makes him unsuitable for any form of covert operation, what are the odds of him posing as a doctor without being noticed? There must be numerous alternative strategies he and Neagley could have employed to locate the man.

Reacher Fakes a Police Officer’s Death to Infiltrate Beck’s Organization

“Persuader” (Season 3, Episode 1)

To gain access to Zachary Beck’s group, Jack Reacher feigns saving Beck’s son from assailants. He also falsely claims to have unintentionally killed a police officer during the rescue operation. The team keeps this secret hidden for some time, until Beck’s son encounters the officer who was supposedly deceased.

No One Does a Followup

It’s intriguing that neither Beck nor Quinn’s group took any steps to identify the officer who performed this unusual act. Moreover, it’s fascinating how this officer mysteriously reappeared and departed without anyone in town seeming to notice. Given that the entire town law enforcement wasn’t part of the plan, it would have been challenging for such a maneuver to go unnoticed. Reacher’s scheme would likely have been exposed quickly under normal circumstances.

Sarah Connor

“What Happens in Atlantic City” (Season 2, Episode 2)

In one scene, Langston is told that Neagley had registered at a hotel using the name Sarah Connor. He dismisses this news, claiming it doesn’t concern him. Interestingly enough, Sarah Connor was the character Robert Patrick, who plays Langston, competed against when he portrayed T-1000 in Terminator 2: Judgement Day.

This T-1000 Doesn’t Care About Sarah Connor

In this instance, it’s not the situation itself that’s laughable, but rather Langston’s response to it that seems absurd. Although the pop culture reference is witty, Langston appears foolish when he persists in stating that he doesn’t care. One would expect a character of his stature, given his level of involvement, to pay attention to even the smallest details. Remarkably, Nick Santora conceived the Sarah Connor disguise plotline before Robert Patrick was cast, and everything else that unfolded was purely serendipitous.

Following their victory against Shane Langston, Jack Reacher and his companions unexpectedly came into possession of a substantial sum of $65 million. Rather than handing it over to the authorities, they made a decision. Wisely, Reacher chose to share the majority of the money with the families of those who had lost their lives in the fight. However, there was still some cash left for him and his team to use as they saw fit. Despite being encouraged to spend the money on personal luxuries, the hero instead opted to buy a bus pass that would allow him travel across the country for an entire year.

Jack Reacher’s thriftiness is impressive, yet it raises questions about how he manages to support himself. As a nomad, his costs are low, but basic needs like food and personal items are still required. For instance, we occasionally see him consuming fast food. One might wonder where he finds the funds for such purchases. Additionally, there are other essentials like deodorant that need to be accounted for. It seems unusual that he wouldn’t allocate some of his large accumulated wealth towards these necessities.
