9 SHOCKING Star Wars Rebels Characters Return!

The cast list for Ahsoka Season 2 confirms the Star Wars Rebels reunion has only just begun.

In Season 1 of the series starring Rosario Dawson, we delved back into Ahsoka Tano’s history from the Clone Wars and introduced her Star Wars Rebels co-stars into the real-world setting of the Mandalorian universe to further develop their narratives.

With filming already in progress, we have some exciting news for Star Wars enthusiasts! At Star Wars Celebration 2025, it was revealed which beloved characters from the Rebels series will be making a comeback in the upcoming season on Disney+.

9 Star Wars Rebels Characters Appearing in Ahsoka Season 2

Ahsoka

In the streaming platform Disney+ series titled “Ahsoka“, Ahsoka Tano serves as the main character. However, her storyline within what’s known as the MandoVerse is deeply rooted in her past experiences with the Ghost crew, which was highlighted in the series “Star Wars Rebels“.

In essence, during Season 1 of the Disney+ series, Ahsoka Tano took on Sabine Wren as her apprentice while grappling with her own past as a padawan. The finale left us with them stranded on Peridea, so we anticipate that Season 2 will delve deeper into their master-apprentice bond and also Ahsoka’s connections to the gods of Mortis, whose enigmatic statues are scattered in this distant galaxy.

Sabine

In the Star Wars Rebels series, the artistically skilled Mandalorian warrior portrayed by Natasha Liu Bordizzo underwent a personal breakthrough in using the Force following her reunion with her Ghost teammate, Ezra Bridger.

In Season 2, viewers can anticipate following Sabine Wren’s continuous journey with the Force, as well as Ahsoka and her mentor delving into the enigma surrounding Peridea.

Hera

In Star Wars Rebels’ first season, Ahsoka Tano, the pilot of the Ghost and a vital figure in establishing the Rebel Alliance, is portrayed as both mother to Jacen Syndulla, Kanan’s child, and a general leading the struggling New Republic.

Given that Hera and Ezra were reunited at the end of the season, it’s reasonable to expect they’ll team up in Season 2 to tackle the danger posed by Thrawn and save their Rebel comrades.

Ezra

Following his disappearance alongside Thrawn at the end of “Star Wars Rebels”, the main character Ezra Bridger (Eman Esfandi) didn’t only rejoin Ahsoka and Sabine during “Ahsoka”, but managed to return to that distant galaxy by the season finale.

In the upcoming Season 2, it appears that another confrontation between Thrawn, possibly armed with his Kanan Jarrus-styled lightsaber, is hard to dodge. Meanwhile, Ezra is reunited with Hera, the one who essentially brought him up in Rebels. He might also develop a relationship with young Force-sensitive Jacen Syndulla, who may require guidance as a master.

Zeb

A prominent figure of the Star Wars Rebels ensemble, Garazeb “Zeb” Orrelios, appeared for the first time in live-action within The Mandalorian’s third season, yet intriguingly, he did not feature in Ahsoka’s initial season.

Apart from his appearance in the 2026 series titled “The Mandalorian and Grogu“, it has been confirmed that Zeb will reunite with his comrades in the second season of “Ahsoka“. There, lively exchanges are anticipated among him, Ezra, and Chopper.

Thrawn

Following a prolonged banishment on the planet Peridea, the cunning Grand Admiral Thrawn, portrayed by Lars Mikkelsen, returns to the galaxy following the fall of the Galactic Empire. In its place, the New Republic, which is currently grappling with internal struggles, now reigns.

At Star Wars Celebration, Lucasfilm confirmed that Thrawn’s alliance with the Nightsisters will carry over into Ahsoka Season 2 and encompass the planet of Dathomir.

Hyuang

In the second season of Ahsoka, the ancient Jedi robot, originally voiced by David Tennant, is set to make a return. This time, the character will join forces with Ahsoka and Sabine on the planet Peridea.

At Star Wars Celebration 2025, the concept art for Ahsoka’s second season hinted that we might witness a surge of lightsaber combat led by Hyuang with an aesthetic reminiscent of the prequel trilogy’s formidable antagonist, General Grievous. As a devoted fan, I find this intriguing and can hardly wait to see how it unfolds!

Chopper

It wouldn’t be a Star Wars Rebels reunion with Chopper.

The perpetually grumbly astromech droid has been officially announced as making a comeback in the second season of Ahsoka, where he’s likely to assume a more significant position and engage in exciting action scenes.

Anakin Skywalker

In the upcoming Season 2 of “Ahsoka,” Hayden Christensen, who previously brought Anakin from the “Clone Wars” era to life in live-action for the first time in Season 1, has been confirmed to reprise his role during Star Wars Celebration 2025!

In a potential second season, there might be opportunities for Hayden Christensen to reprise his role as Anakin Skywalker through Force ghost appearances or flashbacks, but his link with the Mortis deities, particularly The Father, could offer him additional roles, enriching the storyline.
