90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way Introduced Meitalia's Sister And The WTF Rumors She Spread That Kept Them Estranged For A Year

As a seasoned gamer of reality TV shows and a long-time fan of the 90 Day Fiancé franchise, I must confess that the latest episode of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way left me more perplexed than entertained. The ongoing saga of James and Meitalia Solis has been a rollercoaster ride, but the introduction of Meitalia’s sister Angel took it to a whole new level.

heads up! this discussion might reveal plot points from the “Donna Mia” episode of “90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way.” watch it if you have a Max membership, and proceed with caution as you may not want to spoil it for yourself!

In the recent installment of “90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way,” it appeared as though the narrative of James and Meitalia Solis was nearing a resolution, but another hurdle emerged, complicating matters further. As they debated whether to settle in Indonesia or the United States, a surprising revelation about her sister and an intriguing rumor surfaced that could have potentially disrupted their union years prior.

Generally speaking, I usually enjoy the show “90 Day Fiancé“, particularly when it focuses on family members who might appear in future spinoffs. However, I’m not fond of Angel, Meitalia’s sister, and I believe her introduction was one of the most poorly executed family member introductions we’ve seen within the TLC franchise.

Meitalia’s Sister Angel Started A Wild Rumor About James Before Their Marriage

In the episode, we learned that after Meitalia got engaged with James, Angel started attempting to alienate their family from him. She spread rumors about James, telling their father that a friend in America claimed James had a past of mistreating women. The conflict escalated so much that Meitalia and James eventually blocked Angel on social media. It wasn’t until nearly two years later that Angel apologized and admitted her lies.

James expressed concern that Angel’s visit might strain his relationship with Meitalia, as he had already moved on from the issue but felt uneasy due to their recent discussions about returning to the U.S and starting a family, which he feels hesitant about. Given these circumstances, I can understand why he might feel this way.

Angel’s Lack Of Remorse For The Lie, And Meitalia’s Instant Forgiveness Seems Like A Major Red Flag

The most shocking aspect of Angel entering the latest season of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way was her unapologetic dishonesty and her ongoing treatment of James as if he were a detestable individual. Granted, James’ indecisiveness and unwillingness to tackle issues promptly can be infuriating, but Angel appears to have little insight into his character. She seems to hate him blindly, showing a certain level of arrogance in her disdain.

Instead of her sister urging Meitalia to stay in the U.S., as her other sibling did, Angel seems to favor her staying in Indonesia. This is surprising given that Angel resides in Bali, a place approximately a full day’s drive from their hometown, suggesting infrequent meetings between them. If they relocate to the U.S., which I suspect may happen, would distance be a significant concern for Angel?

In many instances, family members have significantly contributed to the breakups in 90 Day couples, and Angel seems to exhibit a similar dynamic. Regrettably, it appears that James will need Meitalia to confront her sister, advocating for his fair treatment, instead of allowing him to suffer Angel’s seemingly senseless animosity. However, I fear that such a confrontation may not occur, which raises concerns about the future stability of their marriage beyond the existing problems.
