It appears that there’s always a steady stream of individuals eager to join the 90 Day Fiancé series on TLC. Currently, new participants are making their debut on the original show and its spinoffs, as part of the 2025 television lineup. Whether they’re chasing fame or fortune isn’t entirely clear, but it’s unlikely that financial gain is a certainty, given Stephanie Matto‘s recent comments about her earnings during her time with the franchise.
Stephanie gained attention for generating substantial income by selling jars of her flatulence to followers. After a hospitalization related to this venture, she decided to retire. The reason behind her unusual business might now be clearer. Following the expiration of her NDA on 90 Day Fiancé, she uploaded a video to YouTube. In this video, she disclosed the amounts she received, and I must admit, the figures left me astonished.
It’s worth noting that I didn’t earn a substantial income while appearing on reality television shows. In fact, I ended up spending more money to be part of the production than I actually received. My earnings ranged from $1,000 to $2,000 per episode, and even though the pay can increase for returning cast members in future seasons, it’s usually not enough. For instance, on a show like ‘Pillow Talk’, they paid $1,500 per episode. However, over a whole season of around ten to thirteen episodes, that amounts to just $30,000 for an entire year, which is quite modest considering the time commitment.
More on 90 Day Fiancé

The eleventh season of 90 Day Fiancé has recently commenced, and fans are expressing doubts about the lawfulness of one couple’s intentions.
The news isn’t entirely surprising, but it’s still interesting. It appears that most cast members of 90 Day continue working their regular jobs while on the show, except for a few notable exceptions like Angela Deem and Natalie Mordovtseva. I suspect these prominent figures are likely earning more than Stephanie did, and they’ve leveraged their fame to branch out into various TV specials or other opportunities.
As a devoted fan of “90 Day Fiancé” on TLC, streamed with a Max subscription, it’s hard not to ponder about the financial aspects for the show’s cast members. They’ve certainly found fame and a platform to launch their careers as influencers, but I can’t help but wonder if they’re fairly compensated. It’d be intriguing to compare their earnings with other reality TV stars.

With Max, you can stream shows like 90 Day Fiancé and its spinoffs at just $9.99 per month. They now offer three different plans for subscribers. By paying for a full year in advance, you can enjoy a 20% savings! Check out the deal here.
Although the compensation isn’t high, it makes sense why 90 Day Fiancé might not want its cast members to have excessive funds. It’s reality TV, after all, and if everyone is unemployed with endless time to focus on their relationships, where would the intrigue come from? I suppose they pay a certain amount to guarantee that new cast members continue to create engaging narratives. Nevertheless, if I ever find myself in an international romance, I might just stick to my current job instead of applying for the show.
Each Sunday at 8:00 p.m. ET, I can’t wait to tune into TLC for another episode of “90 Day Fiancé.” With Stephanie Matto’s non-disclosure agreement now behind her, I find myself eagerly wondering what juicy tidbits she might share next!
