POKT Network expands access to blockchain data with launch of three new gateways

POKT Network has broadened its decentralized network by introducing three new Gateways in collaboration with Developer DAO, Porters (supported by Raid Guild), and Chainstack.

The most recent update provides developers with greater connectivity to more than 60 different blockchains, in line with POKT Network’s objective to broaden API availability on the web via its Universal RPC Foundation.

Based on information from a press release obtained by Crypto.news, the integration of these Gateways signifies a significant advancement for POKT Network and its community. This progress enables the provision of reliable and affordable data access options, benefiting both developers and businesses in improving app performance and user satisfaction.

Dermot O’Riordan, from the POKT Network Foundation, explained that these Gateways function similarly to Layer 2 solutions by enhancing scalability and allowing developers to link directly to a robust and dependable decentralized system.

“Riordan mentioned that by handling an unprecedented amount of access and demand, we’re not only enhancing our network’s functions but also paving the way for a future where all large open data sources are easily accessible, secure, and unrestricted,”.

Through gateways, businesses can easily tap into POKT Network’s infrastructure for provision of services, eliminating the requirement for direct management. This setup fosters a decentralized business system that shortens market entry periods and decreases operational expenses, enabling more resources to be dedicated towards improving customer service.

Starting from its beginning, POKT Network has swiftly increased the number of its Gateways, going from one to six within a span of seven months. This expansion is part of a deliberate plan aimed at enhancing the network’s capabilities.

At POKT Network, Daniel Olshansky, the Protocol Head, described how this approach distributes tasks effectively. Protocol members are responsible for maintaining the infrastructure, while Gateways handle optimizing performance, ensuring that users can access dependable and economical offerings.

The partnership between Developer DAO, Porters, and Chainstack is noteworthy due to its ability to boost network expansion and creativity. For example, Developer DAO intends to utilize RPC earnings to fund communal benefits, representing a system in which technological progress serves the greater good. Meanwhile, Porters and Chainstack contribute technical proficiency and substantial volume possibilities to the alliance.

Moving ahead, POKT Network is gearing up for the Shannon Upgrade slated for summer 2024. This update intends to streamline integration processes for RPC (Remote Procedure Call) providers and projects, making it easier for them to access data across various blockchains and AI systems. The upgrade is forecasted to expand its capabilities to accommodate a wider array of applications and foster greater cooperation within the decentralized data infrastructure sector.
