In an interview with FOX Business, the CEO of Ripple, Brad Garlinghouse, acknowledged that he had underestimated the potential size of the cryptocurrency market. He now predicts that the market value could reach as high as $5 trillion by the end of this year.
In our conversation with Maria from Mornings today, we discussed various topics including the Bitcoin halving, my expectations for the crypto market by the end of the year, and the significance of pro-innovation policies in the US.

At first, Brad Garlinghouse predicted that the Bitcoin market would reach a value of $5 trillion by the end of the year. However, he now believes that this figure could be doubled by 2024. The reason behind this growth is due to heightened interest in Bitcoin and decreasing supply.
Brad observed a recent decrease in cryptocurrency prices, yet he emphasized an impressive 60% market expansion in the year 2024.Bitcoin alone saw a surge of 250%. Although Bitcoin’s price dropped from its record high in March, Brad remains hopeful, citing potential triggers such as the approval of a Bitcoin ETF and the upcoming halving event.
Brad voiced his disapproval towards the US government’s regulatory approach on crypto, particularly during President Biden’s tenure and SEC Chair Gary Gensler’s term. He drew contrasts with crypto-encouraging nations such as Dubai and the UK, urging a more innovation-driven policy to foster economic advancement in the US crypto sector.
