Another Alien: Romulus Popcorn Bucket Has Been Revealed, And While It's Pretty Rad, I Have Concerns

As a die-hard fan of the Alien franchise, I cannot contain my excitement for the upcoming release of Alien: Romulus. The recent reveal of this new popcorn bucket has only fueled my obsession further. I’ve always had a soft spot for the Alien movies, and this Xenomorph head design is both visually striking and creepily intriguing.

As a longtime fan of the Alien franchise, I’ve been eagerly anticipating the release of Fede Alvarez’s latest addition to the series, Alien: Romulus. With my heart already won over by the Alien films, it was the intriguing design of the Romulus popcorn bucket that truly piqued my interest.

I’m relieved that my queries regarding the latest Alien: Romulus collectible aren’t about designing it to resemble a Xenomorph head. Although its design is visually appealing, I wouldn’t find it pleasant if I encountered it unexpectedly in the dead of night. The thought of accidentally staring at one on my shelf at 3 am is enough to give me a start!

Fede Alvarez intends to keep the Xenomorph’s appearance minimal in the upcoming chapter of the Alien franchise, but the promotional materials are taking a nostalgic approach. The Cinemark popcorn bucket recalls the distinctive design of the Xenomorph heads from the Limited Edition Alien Anthology DVD boxes. Given Alvarez’s declared fandom for the Alien series, it’s fitting that he would appreciate this retro homage.

If you’re of the opinion that only dead specimens of this creature are worth having, you’ll soon be able to easily extract a lot of popcorn from its skull. This is an advantage that gives me pause when considering Alien: Romulus‘s latest acquisition.

My Concerns With The Alien: Romulus Xenomorph Popcorn Bucket

As someone who has endured countless movie nights huddled in the dark with a bucket of popcorn, I can’t help but feel a pang of frustration at the sight of this Xenomorph head container. Don’t get me wrong, it may seem like a clever solution to keep costs down and create a durable product. But as someone who has had to deal with the inconvenience of reaching into narrow spaces for that last handful of popcorn kernels, I shudder at the thought of having to navigate around this alien head.

Another perspective: Personally, clutching a greasy popcorn container doesn’t seem enjoyable at the movies for me. This might be just a personal preference, but it seems many people have trouble keeping a firm grip on it during their preferred films.

As an avid fan, I must add one more concern regarding the newly introduced popcorn container for “Alien: Romulus” – it appears to have limited capacity. Frankly speaking, it seems rather small and could barely contain a regular-sized serving of popcorn.

The cost will likely amount to more than just a regular combination; it might even require an additional one. Is it satisfying to only allow a Xenomorph to consume one human per life cycle? It raises the question of whether we’re optimizing our efforts or merely increasing our workload.

If you’re just as excited about “Alien: Romulus” as I am and can’t wait to buy merchandise as a fan, I apologize for bringing up this topic. I’m sharing this in an open forum to help myself come to terms with it before reaching the concession stand at the theater. With the movie not set to be released until August 16th, I have some time left to express my frustration, before making a decision.

As an avid fan, I’m definitely intending to bring home at least one of these wonderful items. For the time being, I’ll content myself with binge-watching “Alien” movies on Hulu and munching on a standard-sized popcorn bowl full of snacks. Stay tuned for more “Alien” movie experiences…and perhaps some unique popcorn buckets!
