Queens of the Dead Lands All-Star Cast for Tina Romero's Queer Zombie Movie

As a long-time horror gaming enthusiast and avid fan of the zombie genre, I’m beyond excited to share my thoughts on the latest development in Tina Romero’s upcoming film “Queens of the Dead.” Growing up, my father’s groundbreaking work in Night of the Living Dead left a lasting impression on me. So it’s an understatement to say that I’m thrilled about Tina’s fresh take on this iconic franchise.

Recently, we shared information about Tina Romero’s innovative spin on the zombie genre, “Queens of the Dead.” This intriguing project is the brainchild of Tina, daughter of the late genre pioneer George A. Romero, who brought us the legendary “Night of the Living Dead.” New details have emerged regarding this film, as it has gathered an impressive cast to help bring Tina’s creative vision to fruition. This upcoming production is shaping up to be a thrilling ride filled with realistic effects, unexpected jumps, and yes, the classic slow-moving zombies.

According to Deadline, the cast for “Queens of the Dead” includes Katy O’Brian (from “Love Lies Bleeding”), Margaret Cho (known for “Fire Island”), Brigette Lundy-Paine (“I Saw The TV Glow”), and Cheyenne Jackson (“American Horror Story”). Vanishing Angle, the production company behind this project, has previously produced Netflix’s “Spoonful of Sugar” in 2022, the 2023 sci-fi action thriller “The Park,” and the hilarious horror-comedy “Werewolves Within” released in 2021.

In a statement given by Natalie Metzger, Angel’s Vice President of Development and Production, she expressed her strong enthusiasm for Romero’s script of “Queens of the Dead.” She also predicted that this upcoming horror movie would deeply connect with modern horror enthusiasts.

Since the first time I came across this script and Tina’s creative concept, I’ve been deeply drawn to it. It’s an enjoyable and distinctive read. This upcoming film not only carries on Romero’s legacy but also introduces a modern twist that is guaranteed to engage a new wave of horror enthusiasts.

“From the moment filming began, Matthew Lee Miller, Vanishing Angle’s president, recognized the importance of having a talented team to bring our daring and unique movie concept to life. The cast we’ve assembled surpasses all our previous hopes. Their collective abilities and camaraderie are nothing short of exhilarating. Tina’s innovative perspective is groundbreaking, and we’re confident that these actors will produce a remarkable result. By paying tribute to Romero’s legacy while exploring new genre territories, we aim to create an experience that will leave a lasting impression.”
