As a long-time fan and follower of Fox Entertainment, I can’t help but feel a pang of sadness as I read about the recent layoffs at the company. Having watched the industry evolve over the years, I’ve come to appreciate the hard work and dedication that goes into producing high-quality content that entertains and captivates audiences around the world.
About thirty workers were let go by Fox Entertainment as part of a company reorganization. This action follows a trend of reducing staff numbers observed throughout the media industry.
Fox is reorganizing its production and business operations into three distinct divisions: The Fox Television Network, led by Michael Thorn; Fox Entertainment Studios, under Fernando Szew; and Fox Entertainment Global, which serves as the company’s international sales arm. Tony Vassiliadis temporarily oversees Fox Entertainment Global.
“During the process of reorganizing, there are various appealing elements to look forward to. Nevertheless, identifying redundancies and adapting to shifting priorities within our team is one of the most challenging parts of this transformation. Today, we regrettably had to let go of some valued colleagues due to the structural adjustments. Rest assured, these choices did not stem from any evaluation of individual performance or dedication, but rather from the need to realign our business model, pursue new growth opportunities, and adapt to current industry trends.”
In recent months, Fox has joined the ranks of Warner Bros. Discovery, Paramount, and Disney’s Pixar and Marvel (to name a few), in implementing job cuts. This move comes as the entertainment industry scales back on the extravagant spending habits of the early streaming era.

In our ongoing mission to shape FOX Entertainment for the days ahead, I’d like to express my heartfelt gratitude to each of you for your commitment, devotion, and exceptional imagination.
While there are many exciting aspects to realizing our path forward, one of the most difficult phases in any reorganization is recognizing where redundancies exist and how evolving priorities affect our team. Today, we informed some of our colleagues that their jobs were impacted by the restructuring process. Please know, these decisions were made with the utmost care and consideration and are in no way a reflection of anyone’s performance or contributions. This step was solely related to aligning our business operations, ambitious growth strategies and the dynamics of our industry today.
In our pursuit of making the business more productive and successful, creativity becomes the key element. After finishing the restructuring process, I am certain that we have the right team to bring about exceptional outcomes. By putting more resources into innovative content and strengthening our status as a leading studio and distributor on a global scale.
