Neha Dhupia admits she’s been ‘struggling for 22 years’; reveals getting offers from South but not Bollywood

As a dedicated fan and follower of Neha Dhupia‘s journey in Bollywood, I have always admired her resilience and dedication to her craft. Despite having made her acting debut in both Telugu and Hindi films two decades ago, she continues to express the struggle of finding interesting projects in the industry.

Neha Dhupia began her acting career in 2003 with the Telugu film “Ninne Ishtapaddanu.” This was followed by her debut in Hindi cinema with the film “Qayamat: City Under Threat” also in the same year. Now, almost twenty years into her showbusiness journey, Neha shares that she still faces challenges in her career. In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, the actress from “Singh Is Kinng” expressed that she finds opportunities in the South film industry but not in Bollywood.

Neha Dhupia feels the business metrics are simply unpredictable

Neha Dhupia, aged 43, acknowledged struggling for over two decades to connect with intriguing films. She explained that while some movies achieve commercial success and large audiences, others attract only a niche following. Using her own work as examples – Ek Chalis Ki Last Local, Mithya, and A Thursday – Neha shared instances where fans praised her performances, expressing their appreciation with words like “excellent” and “enjoyed you in this.”

The actress believes it’s significant to share her work based on what she’s experienced. In our conversation, Dhupia mentioned receiving two consecutive offers from the southern film industry, which required a commitment of three months. However, Neha wondered aloud when was the last time she had received a Hindi film offer and expressed concern about the current state of the industry.

Neha believes it’s worth trying to approach potential employers and ask for opportunities, but finding those employers can be challenging as they themselves may be grappling with complex mathematical issues.

On the work front

Neha Dhupia’s newest project, “Bad Newz,” is now showing in cinemas. In this film, she portrays Malini Sharma. The movie is helmed by Anand Tiwari and features Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri, and Ammy Virk as the main actors. The plot centers around an extraordinary reproductive phenomenon called heteropaternal superfecundation, which significantly affects the lives of these three individuals. The film hit theaters on July 19.

I’ve been following Neha’s social media account for quite some time now, and I must say, her latest BTS video update from the sets of Bad Newz has truly piqued my interest. The video, which features Triptii and Vicky among other talented individuals, exudes an aura of fun and excitement that is impossible to ignore.
