Taylor Tomlinson Will Explore Her Faith and Sexuality on Tour

As a huge fan of Taylor Tomlinson‘s comedy, I am beyond excited about her upcoming “Save Me” tour. Her new material is said to be her most personal yet, and as someone who has followed her career since her early days on the church circuit, I can’t wait to see where she goes with it.

Taylor Tomlinson is heading back on the road.

The “Save Me” tour, named by herself, begins this fall with concerts spanning the United States. Her latest performance is reportedly her most intimate yet, as Tomlinson delves deep into her faith, examines her sexuality, and ponders the question of starting a family. Having emerged from the church scene, she will dissect her beliefs and personal experiences in this new phase of her career.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter this past spring, the comedian, now 30, acknowledged that some audiences found her more personal and heavier material uncomfortable when she first started performing, especially as she tackled subjects like losing her mother during her early career. She shared, “As a young performer, I began too soon, making it unsettling for audiences to see a 19-year-old doing stand-up at all. People were already fearful and anxious for me, and I didn’t have the necessary maturity as a performer to effectively deliver those jokes.”

Tomlinson shared that it required several years of her consistently performing in various places that eventually led to her success. By the time she was under 30, she had already established herself as a major act on tour. The announcement of her new show, “Save Me,” follows her last successful tour, which ranked as the seventh highest-grossing comedy tour of 2023 and the top-grosser for female comics.

Tomlinson took on an additional job this year, becoming the only female host of a late-night network series with CBS’s “After Midnight.” This program is known for being a mix of game shows, panel discussions, and comedy performances. A monologue segment was recently introduced, bringing it closer to the standard format of late-night shows. However, having her own late-night show was never Tomlinson’s goal. In an interview with THR during that same roundtable discussion, she shared that her dream was simply to perform in theaters.

She chose “After Midnight” because they mentioned filming from Monday to Wednesday, allowing her to perform during weekends. Once touring solo, she found the opportunity to interact with other comedians on TV appealing since it only required half of her week. For her upcoming tour named “Save Me,” Tomlinson will be performing only on Fridays and Saturdays to ensure her return to L.A. for work on Mondays.
