Sonam Kapoor reveals not wanting to be de-aged on screen after being offered a school girl role: ‘I don’t look as young as Janhvi, Khushi’

As a dedicated follower of Sonam Kapoor’s career and personal life, I have always admired her bold and unique style both on and off-screen. Her ability to make a statement with her fashion choices while delivering powerful performances in films has made her a true icon in Bollywood.

Sonam Kapoor has been a trendsetter in Bollywood fashion long before it became popular. She made her mark as a style icon in Indian cinema early on, but has taken a break from acting for some time. In an interview with Dirty Magazine, she discussed the film roles that have come her way recently and shared updates about her son Vayu’s involvement with the media.

When will Sonam Kapoor make a comeback?

Sonam chuckled and expressed her intent to resume acting, regardless of public opinion. She found it strange being presented with roles meant for younger women. She reminisced about a particular offer she received for the part of a girl pressured to marry. And in that moment, she questioned, “Is this really the role you want me for? It seems ill-suited to me.”

Sonam Kapoor shared an anecdote about being approached for a role where she would have played the older part, while a child actor was initially considered for the younger version. However, the filmmakers insisted that Kapoor take on both roles. She expressed her reservations, stating, “I’m not ready to be de-aged! I mean, who wants that?”

Why Sonam Kapoor doesn’t want to show the world her son’s face?

When asked if she finds it unflattering to be considered for youthful roles, Kapoor replied, “Well, I can’t deny that I don’t have the same youthful appearance as Jhanvi or Khushi. However, I’m truly appreciative of being seen as someone who hasn’t aged significantly.”

Sonam remarked, “People may think I’m young because they haven’t seen my child, but that’s irrelevant to me. It’s a private matter, isn’t it?” At 39 years old, she emphasized that her son didn’t seek fame and she wouldn’t burden him with such expectations.

The Saawariya actress believes that there are excessive numbers of strange and unusual individuals in the world, and she intends to shield her child’s identity for as long as possible.
