As a dedicated gamer and long-time fan of animated films, I can’t help but get excited every time there’s news about one of my favorite movies potentially getting a live-action adaptation. And when it comes to Disney classics, few hold a candle to the charm and adventure of “Tangled.” So, when I heard that Zachary Levi, the voice behind the dashing rogue Flynn Rider, has shared his thoughts on who could take over the role in a live-action adaptation, I was all ears!
In a year filled with Disney announcements about sequels and live-action versions, it’s no surprise that Zachary Levi, best known for voicing the endearing rogue Flynn Rider in the 2010 animated hit Tangled, has shared his thoughts on a potential live-action adaptation. Levi expressed his pick for the perfect actor to take on his beloved character’s role.
At the red-carpet event for his latest movie, “Harold and the Purple Crayon,” Levi shared some thoughts with Entertainment Tonight about the character of Flynn Rider. He jokingly confessed that while he’s grateful for the connection fans have made between him and Flynn’s charisma, he might be a bit too old to step back into those shoes again. In a playful manner, Levi recommended Timothée Chalamet as an ideal candidate to take over the role.
“Unfortunately, I’m not thinking he’ll get the role of Timothée Chalamet in this project. It’s disappointing because I’m older than most of the other contenders and less familiar with the newer acting talents who might be in the running.”
I was already thrilled, but my enthusiasm didn’t end there. I even suggested the possibility of making a cameo appearance and imagined myself and Mandy Moore, who brilliantly voices Rapunzel, entering the scene as Rapunzel’s parents.
It would bring us joy to imagine ourselves as Rapunzel’s parents. This role would add an enjoyable touch to our appearance in the story.
A Live-Action Tangled Would Makes Us All Nostalgic
As a dedicated gamer and fan of Disney’s magical world, I’ve noticed an exciting trend. Disney has been breathing new life into their classic stories by creating sequels, live-action adaptations, and spin-offs. The live-action remakes of timeless tales like “Cinderella,” “Beauty and the Beast,” and “The Lion King” have been massive hits, and as an audience member, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed each new chapter in these beloved stories.
In the case of “Tangled,” there’s been a strong following of fans who have been eagerly waiting for a sequel for more than ten years. Even actor Zachary Levi, who voiced Flynn Rider in the movie, expressed his disappointment that a “Tangled” sequel never materialized.
I’m thrilled and thankful for having been involved in that magnificent Disney animated musical. It was a long-held dream of mine to be a part of such a production, and I believe we’ve created something truly exceptional.
I was disappointed we didn’t get a sequel to that, but instead, we enjoyed a terrific animated series called “Tangled: The Series” on Disney Channel for three years. Now with the prospect of a live-action version in the works, I’m excited and can’t wait to see how it all unfolds.
