‘RHOC’ Stars Heather Dubrow and Shannon Beador Inspire Ryan Reynolds’ ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ Script in New Promo

As a huge fan of both Ryan Reynolds and the Real Housewives of Orange County (RHOC), I couldn’t help but be thrilled when I heard about their recent crossover promotion for Deadpool 3. The way Reynolds drew inspiration from Heather Dubrow and Shannon Beador‘s ongoing feud to create a heartfelt message in the ad was truly brilliant, and it just goes to show how much he pays attention to pop culture.

Heather Dubrow and Shannon Beador from “Real Housewives of Orange County” have apparently buried their past disputes to collaborate on a commercial for the upcoming “Deadpool 2.” Ryan Reynolds, who writes and stars in the film, is focusing his marketing efforts on attracting women aged 18-49, a significant demographic for broadcast television.

In the advertisement for Marvel and Disney’s upcoming film “Deadpool 3,” the Bravo stars are in for a delightful surprise from Reynolds. He writes them heartfelt letters, expressing his appreciation for their role in inspiring the movie’s plot and encouraging them to treat one another kindly since “that’s what genuine friendships are all about.” As an added gesture of camaraderie, each star receives a unique friendship necklace – Beador obtains half of Deadpool’s emblem, while Dubrow is gifted with Wolverine’s half.

Nine months ago, the ad switches back to this moment. Struggling to finish the script with his co-writers Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, and Zeb Wells, and director Shawn Levy, Reynolds receives an urgent call from Marvel’s Kevin Feige. Curious about their progress, Feige asks for updates. Instead of working, Reynolds had been idly watching Bravo. Inspiration struck him as the ongoing feud on “Real Housewives of Orange County” unfolded on TV.

He explains to Feige over the phone as clips from “RHOC” featuring Beador and Dubrow play in the background, “The gist is that it delves into the intricacies of relationships. You see, Wolverine has been misjudged. His heart was shattered into pieces, fragile like a pastry. Deadpool needs to let go of past hurts so they can mend their broken hearts together.”

During the sixteenth season of “RHOC,” tensions between Beador and Dubrow began to simmer. Beador believed that Terry Dubrow, Nicole’s husband and a plastic surgeon, had botched her breast implant surgery. James later filed a lawsuit against him, but it was dropped not long after. This incident led Dubrow to consider leaving the show. In the following season, their animosity deepened as Beador accused Dubrow of spreading rumors about her previous relationship with John Janssen.

In a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter regarding the commencement of the 17th season and her choice to touch upon Beador’s romantic life on the program, Dubrow stated, “Last year posed challenges with Shannon, as it often does for me. She may not concur, and that’s fine. I felt she had shared certain information in confidence, which I referred to as ‘in the vault.’ I never disclosed those secrets, instead discussing matters she had already discussed openly with others. And I maintain this stance today.”

In simpler terms, an advertisement for the RHOC (Real Housewives of Orange County) and Deadpool 3 crossover was shown during The Bachelorette’s season 21 premiere, focusing on the female audience. Reynolds and Jackman, in the ad, emphasized that the superhero film is not only for fans but also a great date movie. After the release of this ad, Reynolds, who produced it through his company Maximum Effort, joined the conversations around The Bachelorette. Now, he’s making it known that he keeps up with Real Housewives drama as well.
