As a die-hard fan of the X-Men universe and someone who has followed Deadpool’s adventures since his comic book debut, I was beyond excited for “Deadpool & Wolverine.” The movie promised to be an insane ride filled with cameos that would blow our minds. And boy, did it deliver!

Some superhero movie fans particularly enjoy epic and amusing cameos in comic book films. The latest superhero production, “Deadpool & Wolverine,” offers an abundance of these delightful surprises due to a script that skillfully exploits the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s recent exploration of multiverse exploration. As a result, Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine engage with both fresh MCU characters and beloved figures from the 20th Century Fox era.

Deadpool & Wolverine’s Biggest Cameos
Jon Favreau As Happy Hogan
In the beginning of “Deadpool & Wolverine” (2018), Wade Wilson attempts to join the Avengers, approaching Happy Hogan in a meeting. This encounter takes place in 2018. However, his application is met with resistance when Happy reminds him that his intention for joining the team should be driven by selflessness rather than personal gain.
Henry Cavill As The Cavillrine
In the quest to save his fading reality, Deadpool encounters various distinctive forms of the steel-clawed mutant known as Wolverine. Remarkably, all these characters were portrayed by Hugh Jackman, except for one exception. Previous whispers about Henry Cavill assuming a Wolverine variant role were validated, as the former Superman actor showed up significantly muscular in his part, which Deadpool nicknamed “the Cavillrine.”
Chris Evans As Johnny Storm
Chris Evans’ surprise appearance may leave fans thinking they’re witnessing his return as Captain America (Steve Rogers). However, things take an unexpected turn when he exclaims “Flame on!” and unveils the Fantastic Four costume, revealing he is indeed reprising his initial Marvel role as Johnny Storm, aka The Human Torch. Regrettably, this comeback is brief as Cassandra Nova (Emma Corrin) strips him of his skin for criticizing her, which Deadpool later proves was unwarranted in the “Deadpool & Wolverine” end-credits scene.
Aaron Stanford As Pyro
Johnny Storm is left defenseless as Pyro, a henchman from Cassandra’s team and a lead character in “X2: X-Men United” portrayed by Aaron Stanford, absorbs his flame-controlling abilities.
Tyler Mane As Sabretooth
In the year 2000, Tyler Mane portrayed Victor “Sabretooth” Creed in X-Men. However, for the 2009 film, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, which delved deeper into their brotherly relationship with Logan, Mane was no longer cast. Instead, Liev Schreiber took on the role. In Deadpool & Wolverine, Mane once again donned the fangs for a long-awaited confrontation with Jackman’s Wolverine, resulting in an unexpected and literal loss for Mane’s character.
Toad
In another one of the X-Men films, it’s Toad, famously known for his unusually long tongue, who is now following Cassandra’s orders. Interestingly, a different actor has taken on this role this time around. If Ray Park had returned to play the character, Deadpool could have had a golden chance to tease the actor about his most memorable role – Darth Maul from Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace.
Juggernaut
In the Marvel universe reminiscent of the Fox era, I recently encountered an intriguing twist: The X-Men’s Juggernaut appeared as a minion of Nova. His helmet turned out to be crucial for Deadpool and Wolverine to break free from The Void. Though Vinnie Jones didn’t reprise his role this time, it was a delightful nod to our shared past, even if Ryan Reynolds had already given Juggernaut a voice in the CGI version of Deadpool 2.
Jennifer Garner As Elektra
1. In the Fox-era Marvel movies, Deadpool and Wolverine encounter additional characters such as Elektra Natchios, who was played by Jennifer Garner in both Daredevil (2003) and her own series in 2005. Interestingly, she previously starred alongside Ben Affleck, the original Daredevil, in the film. Although he is not present, his absence is humorously acknowledged.
Wesley Snipes As Blade
As a gamer, I was totally floored when I discovered that Wesley Snipes, known for his badass role as Blade in the original movies, joined Elektra’s squad! To be honest, I didn’t expect him to show up, especially after hearing Reynolds mention some tension between them during the filming of ‘Blade: Trinity’. But here we are!
Channing Tatum As Gambit
A while back, Fox tried producing a film with Channing Tatum as the X-Men character Gambit, or Remy LeBeau. This project, however, got stuck in development limbo and never came to fruition. Later on, Tatum brought Gambit’s mutant gambling expert persona to life in an amusing scene from “Deadpool & Wolverine,” complete with a hard-to-understand Cajun accent.
Dafne Keen As Laura/X-23
The role with the greatest emotional impact might be Dafne Keen’s, who returns as Laura (X-23) from “Logan” (2017). This young, clawed woman, created from Logan’s genetic material, helps motivate the disillusioned mutant to embrace his heroic role in this storyline instead of his own.
Wunmi Mosaku As Hunter B-15
Apart from Happy Hogan, another significant MCU character featured in Deadpool & Wolverine is Hunter B-15, portrayed by Wunmi Mosaku. It’s delightful to witness her in her commanding role as the head of TVA, expressing gratitude towards Wade and Logan for their assistance in preserving the Marvel Multiverse.
Deadpool & Wolverine Cameos You Might Have Missed
Psylocke
Cassandra in The Void utilizes one more iconic X-Men film character, Psylocke. Her appearance is predominantly in the background of the scenes, and it’s uncertain who acted as the telepathic mutant in this production. It wasn’t Mei Mleançon from X-Men: The Last Stand or Olivia Munn from X-Men: Apocalypse.
Lady Deathstrike
It’s uncertain who wears the retractable claws to portray Lady Deathstrike in “Deadpool & Wolverine,” and it seems unlikely to be “X2” actor Kelly Hu. This depiction of the mutant might differ from the one Logan eliminated in that movie.
Blake Lively As Lady Deadpool
Several stories circulated about who might portray Lady Deadpool, with Taylor Swift and Blake Lively among the names mentioned. It was ultimately confirmed that it was Blake Lively in the role, as stated in the movie’s credits. However, we couldn’t help but imagine Ryan Reynolds’ wife donning the Lady Deadpool costume instead of just providing her voice.
Matthew McConaughey As Cowboy Deadpool
Although we didn’t get to witness Cowboy Deadpool, the Western version of the Merc, being portrayed on screen, some attentive viewers could identify Matthew McConaughey’s distinctive voice from his brief appearances.
Nathan Fillion As Headpool
1. Nathan Fillion has expanded his list of Marvel Cinematic Universe characters by three, with his latest role as Headpool in addition to his previous appearances as “Monstrous Inmate” and Karja in the first and third Guardians of the Galaxy movies. Previously on Firefly, he provided voice for a character, which was also a disembodied head, much like his character on Santa Clarita Diet.
Inez Reynolds As Kidpool
As a hardcore gamer, I’d put it this way: I’ve come across a younger, equally profanely-inclined version of Wade Wilson in the gaming world, whom we fondly call Kidpool. He shares an exceptionally tight bond with Reynolds and Lively, my favorite Hollywood power couple. Surprisingly enough, their eldest son, Inez, brings this character to life on the screen.
Paul Mullin As Welshpool
As an ardent fan, I couldn’t help but spot a unique Deadpool version sporting the Welsh flag in his getup! This fellow goes by the name Welshpool, and if you’ve been keeping up, Ryan Reynolds himself revealed on X that this character is brought to life by none other than Paul Mullin – a star footballer hailing from Wrexham AFC, which, fun fact, is co-owned by Reynolds and Rob McElhenny!
