As a star-struck fan, I can’t help but feel envious of those fortunate enough to be in Paris for the Olympics. The city is already a romantic and magical place, but add in the excitement of world-class athletes competing at the highest level and the presence of my favorite celebrities, and it becomes an experience like no other.
Gold medals aren’t the only thing glittering in Paris.
1. Many celebrities have made their way to France to witness the Olympics in real life during the initial days of this global event. Following her performance of “Mon Truc en Plumes” dressed in Dior at the opening ceremony, Lady Gaga was seen encouraging superstar Simone Biles and the USA women’s gymnastics team from within Bercy Arena. Alongside her were Tom Cruise, Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo, Greta Gerwig, Baz Luhrmann, Jessica Chastain, Sarah Jessica Parker, Matthew Broderick, John Legend, Chrissy Teigen, Nick Jonas, Anna Wintour, Snoop Dogg, Lena Waithe, Jon M. Chu, and Warner Bros. Discovery chief David Zaslav. They all watched the acrobatics, tumbling, and balance beam performances inside the arena.
During the first evening of the Games, First Lady Jill Biden sat beside Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass. Meanwhile, Microsoft magnate Bill Gates and tennis champion Serena Williams enjoyed the Novak Djokovic versus Rafael Nadal tennis match. Spike Lee and Queen Latifah were amongst the crowd for the men’s basketball team’s victory against Serbia. The star-studded lineup included NBA heavyweights LeBron James, Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, Anthony Davis, and Devin Booker. Mick Jagger took in the fencing event, while Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban attended the women’s street skateboarding competition.
