Elden Ring player suing FromSoftware over its difficulty

As a seasoned FromSoftware gamer with countless hours spent in the dark and twisted realms of their games, I can’t help but chuckle at this latest attempt to sue the developer over Elden Ring’s difficulty. It’s like suing a rollercoaster manufacturer for not having a ‘kiddie ride’ option – it’s just not what you signed up for!

Every time I dive into a game by FromSoftware, there’s no denying it – I know exactly what I’m in for. Whether it’s Dark Souls, Bloodborne, or something new, their games are infamously tough, and I can tell you firsthand that Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice has haunted my dreams!

In 2022, Elden Ring led us into the Lands Between without a hitch, and when its Shadow of the Erdtree DLC was released in 2024, it ramped up the challenge even further. As soon as the Tree Sentinel dealt us a heavy blow, we realized we were in for a tough time – but that’s precisely why we ventured here!

According to MP1st, an upset Elden Ring player has expressed intentions on 4chan to file a lawsuit against FromSoftware due to repeated returns to a Site of Grace. The original poster asserts they will initiate a lawsuit against FromSoftware and Elden Ring publisher, Bandai Namco, on September 25th. They argue that certain unearthed cut content hints at a secret aspect of the game, which has not been accessible due to the supposed extreme difficulty of Elden Ring, making it unplayable for most players.

Some unusual legal cases have come up, but it’s extraordinary to accuse game developers of concealing an entire new game within layers of extreme difficulty. At this point, FromSoftware hasn’t commented on the case. Interestingly, if these games weren’t so challenging, they might not enjoy the fanbase they currently do. As of now, there’s been no official response from FromSoftware.

In other words, playing Elden Ring is typically challenging because FromSoftware intentionally makes their downloadable content difficult to access. This is done so players are adequately prepared for the demanding Land of Shadow. Hidetaka Miyazaki from FromSoft has hinted that there won’t be an easy mode for Elden Ring, which seems like it’s all about improving your skills, or in gaming terms, ‘leveling up’.

Instead of saying “We’re not judges,” you could consider using a phrase like “It seems unlikely” or “It appears doubtful.” The revised sentence would read:
