As a long-time Marvel fan who has followed Chris Evans‘ career since his early days as Johnny Storm, I couldn’t help but feel a surge of excitement when I heard he was reprising the role for Deadpool & Wolverine! It’s not every day that you get to see your childhood heroes team up on the big screen, and with Chris Evans joining forces with Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, this movie is shaping up to be a spectacle like no other.

Even though Chris Evans’ final outing as Steve Rogers in “Avengers: Endgame” (2019) seemed like the end of his Marvel Cinematic Universe journey, this isn’t entirely true. In the 2025 release schedule, it has been revealed that Evans will reappear in the Marvel movie “Deadpool & Wolverine” by playing Johnny Storm, also known as The Human Torch, a character he portrayed in the 2000s “Fantastic Four” films. To mark his time on this production, Evans shared an ideal set photo, keeping alive his streak of success… symbolically speaking.
On Instagram Stories, Evans posted a picture of himself with Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, and director/co-writer Shawn Levy on set. He expressed gratitude towards them for inviting him to work on the project titled “Deadpool & Wolverine,” and he felt elated about getting another chance to slip into Johnny Storm’s costume – a long-cherished dream of his. Informal speculation suggested that Chris Evans’ character, the Human Torch, might reappear in the film titled “Deadpool & Wolverine“, similar to how Dafne Keen’s return as Laura Kinney/X-23 was confirmed in the final trailer for Deadpool 3. However, unlike that confirmation, Marvel Studios opted to keep this specific surprise a secret until the movie’s release. A few days ago, Evans disclosed that Ryan Reynolds reached out to him about being part of the third installment, and he agreed because Reynolds is a gold-touch talent and appreciates Evans’ humor. Recently, Evans posted a photo from the “Deadpool & Wolverine” set, expressing his thanks to Hugh Jackman and Shawn Levy for making his time on the film enjoyable.
