The ‘Twisters' Cast Went Storm-Chasing With Glen Powell’s Dog, And It’s Proof Brisket Should’ve Just Been In The Movie

As a gamer with a soft spot for movies and dogs, I can’t help but feel that Brisket was robbed of his big screen debut in Twisters. I mean, come on! He’s got charisma, he’s got charm, and he’s got those adorable little ears that could melt anyone’s heart.

Since the day Glen Powell welcomed sweet Brisket into his life, I’ve been captivated by his devotion as a dog dad. In the movie “Twisters,” the cast was exceptional already, but imagine the charm if we could have glimpsed that precious little face on screen! As it turns out, even the cast of this disaster flick went storm-chasing with Brisket, making me wonder why he wasn’t part of the film as well.

Throughout Glen Powell’s acting career, Brisket has occasionally made brief appearances. You might spot him when his handler is being interviewed for some of Powell’s top films, nestled in his arms at film premieres, and on set, winning over everyone he meets. After actor Brandon Perea from Twisters mentioned during a TopMob press tour interview that Brisket was the most assured storm-chaser among them, it’s clear that this furry little friend deserved to be part of the movie.

We went after Brisket, and Brisket remained calm. Brisket didn’t make any noise. Brisket stayed very composed, like a cucumber. […] Brisket is always relaxed. Those little ears of his are adorable.

Observing Brisket alongside the cast, who were affectionately cuddling him while also appearing calm and composed on Glen Powell’s chair, warms my heart. I’m intrigued to know if the turbulence mentioned by Brandon Perea was indeed the actual Oklahoma storm that damaged the Twisters farmers market set, which had to be reconstructed but was destroyed again for the filming. Perea shares that Brisket remained unfazed during their brushes with this storm, suggesting that he isn’t an anxious dog in such situations.

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but wonder why Brisket, who played such an integral part in the movie-making process of Twisters as a storm-chasing dog, didn’t make it onto the silver screen. After all, even Glen Powell’s parents got their cameo moments! I had high hopes that Brisket would steal the show during the scene where Tyler was helping a family find their lost dog amidst the tornado wreckage. Alas, it seems the little terrier-poodle mix was saving his best tricks for another day.

Glen Powell’s latest furry companion seems to be an endless source of happiness for the American actor. He joined Powell at a crucial moment when he needed companionship, following a breakup. Adopted from the Labelle Foundation during filming of “Twisters“, Powell was eagerly awaiting the chance to collect Brisket from L.A., during a pause in filming, and introduce him to everyone. Despite not having a role as a dog actor in the movie, Brisket was still regarded by Powell as the “mascot” of the blockbuster hit, “Anyone But You“.

Despite all of the storm-chasing Glen Powell’s dog, Brisket, did with the cast of Twisters, the little puppy sadly did not get a cameo in the disaster flick. But, it looks like Brisket still had a positive presence on set as everyone got their cuddle time with the film’s “mascot.” Hopefully having an A-list actor as an owner means that Brisket will get his chance on the big screen one day. You can see Powell and the rest of the storm-chasing cast in the 2024 movie release in theaters now.
