Cobra Kai Creator on the 'Biggest & Craziest' Scenes of Season 6 Parts 2 & 3

As a gamer who has dedicated countless hours to the world of martial arts and karate-based shows, I can confidently say that the upcoming final seasons of Cobra Kai are like the ultimate boss battle I’ve been training for all these years. The anticipation is palpable, especially after hearing Jon Hurwitz’s promises about the biggest tournament yet in Barcelona and the satisfying conclusion for our beloved characters Daniel and Johnny.

Attention! The content below may include spoilers from Cobra Kai Season 6. Creator Jon Hurwitz continues to face questions about the upcoming parts of the final season, and for fans of the Netflix series, there’s already a wealth of intriguing tidbits available. Even Martin Kove, who plays John Kreese, has hinted at a satisfying and potentially redeeming end for the villain. While Hurwitz may not have any groundbreaking news to share, he does discuss the significance of wrapping up the series successfully. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Hurwitz stated:

As we move into Part 2, we find ourselves in Barcelona for the World Tournament, which is the most extravagant, action-packed martial arts competition ever featured in the Karate Kid series. This tournament is far from the traditional events you might have seen at the All Valleys tournaments.

During the same conversation, Hurwitz, one of the creators and co-showrunners alongside Josh Heald and Hayden Schlossberg, went on to discuss further:

“Beyond what meets the eye on and off the mat, there’s a wealth of enjoyable experiences awaiting us. As we approach the third act, I can’t disclose all the details… but in the concluding episodes, our aim is to successfully conclude the narratives – to bring resolution to Johnny, Daniel, and the other children’s stories.”

The thrilling end of Cobra Kai Season 6 – Part 1 took things a notch higher as Daniel LaRusso (played by Ralph Macchio) and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) traveled to Barcelona, Spain, for the international Sekai Taika karate tournament. The finale left viewers on edge when they saw Miyagi-Do discover that John Kreese (Kove) and Cobra Kai would also be participating in the competition. To make matters more intriguing, everyone was shocked when Tory (Peyton List) appeared alongside her fellow Cobra Kai members during the team introductions, leading to questions about why she made this move.

As Season 6’s Part 2 airs in November, and Part 3 is scheduled for 2025, there are numerous plot threads to resolve. However, Jon Hurwitz, co-creator and co-showrunner of ‘Cobra Kai’, understands the immense duty he and his team must fulfill – delivering a satisfying series finale that meets the high expectations of devoted fans who love the Crane-kick moments. In an interview with THR, Hurwitz expressed this sentiment.

“This year marks the senior year of high school for the children. We wanted to accompany them through this year and bring the Johnny and Daniel story that began in 1984 to a satisfying and thrilling end. This doesn’t mean that we won’t revisit these characters in the future, but rather, this is where we conclude the narrative of Cobra Kai for now. We’re eagerly looking forward to sharing with you what we have planned next.”

Mike Barnes attempted to set things straight when he came back for Season 6, and there are quite a few more characters from The Karate Kid series that fans are eagerly anticipating to see, who didn’t show up in Season 6 – Part 1. Given that Chozen (Yuji Okumoto) is back in Okinawa, it seems very probable that Kumiko (Tamlyn Tomita) will make an appearance during the remaining 10 episodes of the final season.

Additionally, Terry Silver (played by Thomas Ian Griffith) was often discussed, yet he wasn’t depicted as rotting away in prison during Part 1. Moreover, it’s been a long time since we last saw Oscar-winning actress Hilary Swank as Julie Pierce, and it seems plausible that there might be secrets about the next Karate Kid stored in Mr. Miyagi’s (Pat Morita) hidden box. With anticipation at its peak, it’s undoubtedly on the minds of the three showrunners what the fans desire and expect from Cobra Kai’s final season.
