As a die-hard fan of Ayushmann Khurrana, I must confess that this latest turn of events has left me both disappointed and intrigued. On one hand, I am disheartened by the news that he won’t be sharing screen space with Kareena Kapoor Khan in Meghna Gulzar’s upcoming film, Daayra. The thought of these two powerhouse actors together was incredibly exciting, especially after the success of their individual films like Raazi and AndhaDhun respectively.
Previously, fans were thrilled at the prospect of Kareena Kapoor Khan and Ayushmann Khurrana working together in a movie directed by Meghna Gulzar. This would have been their first joint project. Unfortunately, it seems Ayushmann has withdrawn from the film due to calendar issues.
Based on a recent article in Mid-day, it appears that Ayushmann Khurrana is struggling to set dates for Meghna Gulzar’s upcoming film, tentatively called Daayra, as his calendar is full in the latter half of 2024. The production aims to start by the end of this year but collides with Ayushmann’s scheduled US music tour. Additionally, he has at least two other film projects lined up, including border 2.
According to the previously stated platform, negotiations are ongoing for all projects regarding the dates, but Gulzar’s film is not included in his schedule at this time. The production crew has been made aware, and it appears that Gulzar is seeking an appropriate substitute for the role.
Previously, TopMob unveiled that Meghna’s movie was inspired by real-life incidents. A source shared, “This film packs a powerful punch and demands acting talent of high caliber, such as Ayushmann Khurrana and Kareena Kapoor Khan. They have gone through the script, and were taken aback by the intricacies of the case. Following ‘Talvar’, this movie could spark controversy and ignite discussions about the incident.”
It’s important to mention that according to TopMob, both Kareena and Ayushmann had given their initial approval for the movie, but the official documentation was yet to be finalized.
Simultaneously, we’ve shared details on the actor of Dream Girl 2 being involved in two more upcoming projects as well. He seems poised for a spy comedy, helmed by Aakash Kaushik. This production will be a collaboration between Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Guneet Monga’s Sikhya Entertainment. At present, discussions are ongoing with Sara Ali Khan regarding her potential role as the female lead.
In addition to the previous information, we revealed that Ayushmann Khurrana is collaborating with Rashmika Mandanna on a horror-comedy project. Entitled “Vampires of Vijay Nagar,” this film will be helmed by director Aditya Sarpotdar and produced by Dinesh Vijan.
