As a film enthusiast who grew up with Malcolm in the Middle, I can’t help but feel a mix of excitement and nostalgia when hearing about potential revival news. The show was a staple of my childhood, and Dewey, played by Erik Per Sullivan, was one of my favorite characters. I remember eagerly waiting for each new episode, and the thought that he’s now studying Victorian literature at an undisclosed prestigious university fills me with a strange sense of pride.

For a long time, viewers have questioned what happened to Erik Per Sullivan, who was famously known for his role as Dewey in “Malcolm in the Middle.” This popular sitcom from the 2000s featured him as one of the lesser-known children in the family. After the show ended in 2006, there has been minimal information about Sullivan’s whereabouts and current status.

More recently, Jane Kaczmarek, famously known for her role as Lois on Malcolm in the Middle, was interviewed by Malcolm France on his YouTube channel dedicated to the show. During the interview, she shared that Sullivan, the character she played’s son, is thriving and attending an unnamed university at present. “He’s doing great, he’s absolutely fantastic,” Kaczmarek said. “He was on Malcolm for seven years, starting at age 7 and finishing at 14. He had no interest in acting whatsoever.”

Kaczmarek continued by mentioning that after Malcolm in the Middle, Sullivan chose a different route from acting and instead focused on his education at a highly regarded American university. He requested confidentiality about this institution, and his passion lies in Charles Dickens’ literature. Presently, he is engaged in graduate studies specializing in Victorian literature. I find it commendable because not everyone finds show business to be the pinnacle of existence.

It seems Sullivan might not be keen on acting again, leaving uncertainty about his participation in the potential comeback of Malcolm in the Middle. Frankie Muniz hinted that a revival is now closer than ever to materializing. Despite rumors circulating for years, nothing has been officially confirmed. However, if the storyline is suitable, the cast appears ready and willing to return.

There’s strong evidence suggesting that a comeback for “Malcolm in the Middle” might be imminent. Last year, it was disclosed that Bryan Cranston, known for his role as Hal, is actively working on the revival project himself. With Bryan Cranston’s rising fame in recent times, he could potentially contribute to getting this revival underway.

It seems there might be plans for a comeback of “Malcolm in the Middle”, although nothing has been officially announced yet. Fingers crossed that Bryan Cranston, who played Malcolm, will make an appearance at least once – despite the title suggesting Malcolm’s character as the center, the show was known for highlighting each family member’s unique talents and flexibility.
