As a seasoned gamer with decades worth of gaming experiences under my belt, I can confidently say that this recent development by Call of Duty HQ is a breath of fresh air. The reduction in file size for Modern Warfare 3 on both current and last-gen consoles is nothing short of miraculous. My hard drive has been groaning under the weight of these colossal games for far too long!

The main headquarters of Call of Duty is widely recognized for its immense scale, as it accommodates numerous games from the franchise like Warzone, Modern Warfare 3, and its predecessor, Modern Warfare 2.

Famously known for consuming vast amounts of console storage, the app, often referred to as Call of Duty, has left many players trapped in endless gaming sessions. However, there’s some good news (temporarily at least): the file size of Modern Warfare 3 has been significantly reduced, offering a bit more free space on your hard drives.

According to PlayStation’s recent announcement, the file size of Call of Duty is being significantly reduced for current-generation consoles such as the PS5.

As a gaming enthusiast, I’m thrilled about the news straight from Sony! They’ve shared that they’re slashing the PlayStation 5’s initial install size by an impressive 100GB, bringing it down from 174GB to a more manageable 73GB. Even better, last-gen consoles are seeing a reduction of approximately 20%, shrinking from 82GB to just 67GB! This means more storage for my favorite games and less time spent managing digital space. Game on!

A significant upgrade is coming for Modern Warfare 3, one that might bring about a refreshing reprise. If your allegiance remains with MW3 or Warzone, this update should prove rewarding.

It seems probable that Xbox and PC gamers may soon encounter similar discounts, but specific details about these potential reductions are scarce at the moment. Although the exact timing of this major update remains unspecified, PlayStation has hinted that it will occur shortly.

Currently, you could potentially find a handful more action-packed games to enjoy on your gaming consoles, as an abundance of thrilling shooter games are waiting to be discovered.

It seems that this could turn out to be a fleeting romance, as the Black Ops 6 Beta is approaching. The beta itself promises a sizable file size, and the complete game is expected to arrive later this fall. At least, those summer flings provide some of the most cherished memories in life.
