Hodinkee Reunites With TAG Heuer for a Carrera Seafarer Limited Edition

As a seasoned gamer of timepieces, hailing from a lineage where watches are not just accessories but cherished companions, I must admit that this latest collaboration between Hodinkee and TAG Heuer has caught my eye with its nostalgic charm. The Carrera Chronograph Seafarer model is a delightful nod to the brand’s rich history, echoing the design ethos of the ’50s-’70s Seafarer models produced for Abercrombie & Fitch.

Following the launch of a special edition Chronograph 1 in partnership with Porsche Design last month, Hodinkee is back again with another collaborative timepiece. This time, they are teaming up with TAG Heuer for the third time to reveal an exclusive Carrera Chronograph Seafarer model.

Paying homage to TAG Heuer’s history, the timepiece features a design that nods to the line of  Seafarer models that was produced for Abercrombie & Fitch from the ‘50s -‘70s. Many of the originals’ dial designs and features have been kept, with its color schemes referencing a specific model from 1968.

Wearing a 42mm-wide Carrera “Glassbox” watch case, the sleek black opaline dial stands out against its subdials, adorned with sky and royal blue Regatta and Tide indications. Inside, the self-winding TH20-13 tide indicator chronograph caliber operates the piece for up to 80 hours of uninterrupted functioning, offering 10 ATM of water resistance as well. The watch comes with a complementary integrated black rubber strap.

To honor the year when Here introduced the 2446C Seafarer for the first time, we’re releasing a special, limited edition of just 968 pieces. Each one will cost $7,950 USD. Of these, 125 will be sold exclusively through the Hodinkee Shop, while the rest can be purchased from TAG Heuer’s boutiques and authorized dealers.
