As a seasoned gamer and movie enthusiast with over two decades under my belt, I must say that the upcoming biopic, “Unstoppable,” based on the true story of Anthony Robles, has piqued my interest significantly. The cast, led by none other than Jennifer Lopez and Jharrel Jerome, is a powerhouse lineup, to say the least.
Jennifer Lopez and Jharrel Jerome are set to appear in the forthcoming film titled “Unstoppable“, which is a biographical drama about the life of Anthony Robles, a real-life individual.
On Thursday, Amazon MGM Studios unveiled the initial images from the William Goldenberg-directed movie. This film focuses on the inspiring life story of wrestler Anthony Robles (played by Jerome), who was born with only one leg but still managed to win a national championship in 2011 while competing at Arizona State University.
In the production, Lopez takes on the role of Anthony’s mother Judy, while Bobby Cannavale steps into the part of his father Rick. Michael Peña acts as coach Bobby Williams, and Don Cheadle depicts wrestling coach Shawn Charles, completing the cast lineup.
As a gamer, I’d rephrase it like this: “Born without a right leg, I, Anthony Robles, defied all odds and climbed my way up to become an NCAA Division 1 Champion wrestler. The sweetest victory came when I won the national championship against none other than the school that once turned me down, the formidable Iowa.”
In the making of “Unstoppable”, Ben Affleck (Lopez’s husband) served as the producer through their shared production company with Matt Damon, Artists Equity. Additionally, Robles was a producer on the film and took on the role of performing Jerome’s intricate wrestling stunts as his stunt double.

The movie, inspired by the book “Unstoppable: From Underdog to Undefeated: How I Became a Champion” by Robles and Murphy, is scheduled for its first screening worldwide at the Toronto International Film Festival in September. Later, it will be shown in selected cinemas in December.
