EXCLUSIVE: Bareilly Ki Barfi, Chhichhore and more; Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkumar Rao open up about possible sequels

As a die-hard fan who has followed Rajkumar Rao’s career since his debut, I must say that the news of a potential sequel to Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana is music to my ears! The chemistry between him and Kriti Kharbanda in the original was simply magical, and I can only imagine what a sequel would bring.

As a longtime fan of Rajkumar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, I must admit that I am absolutely thrilled about the upcoming release of Stree 2. Having grown up watching both actors in various films, their chemistry and talent never cease to amaze me. This horror-comedy flick seems like a unique blend of genres that is sure to captivate audiences across the country. The anticipation for this movie has been building steadily, and I can’t wait to see how it unfolds on the big screen. August 15th can’t come soon enough!

For those not in the know, Stree 2 is a follow-up to the 2018 movie Stree, making it the fourth film in Maddock Films’ series of supernatural flicks, which also includes Varun Dhawan’s Bhediyaa and Munjyaa. In an exclusive interview with TopMob before the release of Stree 2, lead actors Rajkumar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor discussed potential sequels to other movies in their filmography.

In response to queries about potential follow-ups, Rajkumar Rao expressed that numerous individuals have expressed interest in a sequel to the 2017 movie “Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana.” Upon hearing these words, the crowd erupted with approval. The actor then commented:

“Many folks have expressed interest in a sequel for Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana. Perhaps, Sattu could return in a different role.”

Rajkumar Rao continued by expressing that he believes several of his characters might benefit from standalone sequels or spin-offs. He specifically mentioned characters from the 2020 movie “Ludo” and the 2017 film “Bareilly Ki Barfi” as those who could potentially star in their own follow-ups.

The actor expressed: “I believe many roles, similar to Aloo from Ludo, would resonate with audiences as well. The scene where he sets the table and exhibits his hopeless romantic side really struck a chord with me. I feel there could be a standalone film for him, perhaps even expanding on Pritam Vidrohi’s story somewhere within Kanpur.”

Speaking as a follower, I’m expressing my desire to join the sequel of the 2019 movie “Chhichhore,” just like Shraddha Kapoor did. She beautifully captured its essence when she said, “Chhichhore kya film hai yaar (Chhichhore is such a wonderful film!).” So, if given the chance, I would be honored to be a part of this remarkable cinematic journey.

In my uncontainable excitement, let me share that I’ve been eagerly waiting for it – Stree 2! Just like its 2018 namesake, this sequel is directed by Amar Kaushik. The stellar cast includes Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, Aparshakti Khurana, and a host of others, in addition to the two leading actors. And here’s what has me absolutely thrilled – Varun Dhawan’s character from the 2022 film, Bhediya, is making an appearance too! Can’t wait to witness this spook-tacular ride!

In this movie production, the musical team Sachin-Jigar is responsible for creating the melodies, whereas Justin Varghese, a composer hailing from Malayalam music, contributes by crafting the background score. The film’s visual aspects are handled by Jishnu Bhattacharjee in cinematography, and Hemanti Sarkar oversees the editing process.
