Divyenndu jokes there’s ‘pin drop silence’ post Mirzapur 3 release months after he left the show

As a die-hard fan, I must say Divyenndu’s journey from Mirzapur to Life Hill Gayi is nothing short of spectacular! His portrayal of Munna Bhaiya was not just a role, it was an experience that left us all in awe. The man can bring darkness to life like no other, and yet, he has the ability to light up our screens with his charm.

In the popular Prime Video series, Mirzapur, Divyenndu played the beloved character Munna Bhaiya. Following the second season, both the actor and his character departed from the show. Lately, during the promotion of his new series Life Hill Gayi, Divyenndu made a quip about Mirzapur that’s been spreading online.

During an interview with Filmygyan, all the actors of the Disney+ Hotstar series were speaking when Mukti Mohan commented about Mirzapur, saying, “I’ll wait for things to settle down a bit before I quietly watch.” Divyenndu then chimed in, “Go ahead and watch it now. It’s completely silent after season 3,” followed by a laugh. However, he made it clear that he was only joking.

On several occasions, Divyenndu, aged 41, has shared his motivation for leaving Mirzapur, with the most recent instance being in an interview with Zoom. He stated, “Eventually, one can’t idealize the aspect of portraying a dark character indefinitely. It can become draining. To truly embody such a role, you must immerse yourself fully. And when you’re done, you need to emerge from it as well.”

Although performing in Magao Express and Life Hill provided some respite for Divyenndu, as an actor he yearns for diverse roles and unique stories. Following the success of two seasons, Mirzapur 3, which premiered on July 5 this year, received a relatively muted reception.

During the same interview, Divyenndu was inquired about the overwhelming affection his Mirzapur fans consistently show him. Responding to this, he stated, “It’s just love…sometimes it can be too much love, but you can’t argue with that. It’s a positive and fortunate situation when people admire you. However, even if you try to forget, the fans won’t allow you to do so. So, it becomes an integral part of your existence.”

Divyenndu’s Life Has Climbed (or ascended) is currently available for streaming on Disney+ Hotstar, featuring Kusha Kapila, Bhagyashree, Kabir Bedi, and Vinay Pathak in prominent positions within the cast.
