As a gamer with a deep affection for the ’90s, I must say, the prospect of a FRGMT x Tamagotchi collaboration has me all nostalgic! I remember spending countless hours nurturing my digital pets back in the day. The Gen. 1 FRGMT Edition Tamagotchi was a coveted item then, and now, with its glossy makeover, it’s even more irresistible.
Hiroshi Fujiwara, known as the “Godfather of Streetwear,” has hinted at an upcoming partnership between FRGMT and Tamagotchi in his latest Instagram post.
In the previous year, Fujiwara acquired a reminiscent toy as part of a limited re-release: the Gen. 1 FRGMT Edition Tamagotchi. This device is housed in its classic round casing, adorned with a border around the digital screen that mimics a cracked eggshell. Below the screen are three buttons, and the FRGMT logo, featuring their signature double-lightning-bolt symbol, is prominently displayed above in stark white contrast, complementing the gadget’s other color elements.
As a long-time tech enthusiast with a keen eye for design, I must say that I am genuinely excited about the latest edition of this device. Having used its predecessor extensively over the past year, I have come to appreciate its matte and rubber-like finish. However, the new glossy look of the revamped version has caught my attention, and I find myself drawn to it. The change in appearance not only adds a touch of sophistication but also makes the device feel more premium in hand. While personal preference plays a significant role in this decision, I believe that the new edition is a step forward in terms of design aesthetics and overall user experience.
As I’m typing this, there’s no solid release date yet, but from what Fujiwara’s hinted in the caption, it seems like we’re going to get our hands on this shiny new edition pretty soon!
