ImperialHal dumbfounded by Apex Legends’ invisible Crypto

ImperialHal dumbfounded by Apex Legends' invisible Crypto

As a long-time Apex Legends fanatic with over 10 years of gaming under my belt, I’ve seen my fair share of game-changing legends. However, the latest update to Crypto’s kit in Season 22 has left me utterly bewildered and shaking my head in disbelief. I’ve always been a fan of the stealthy characters, but this new invisibility cloak takes it too far!

Restart Entertainment, the team behind Apex Legends, has occasionally struggled with striking the right balance for their characters (or legends). Sometimes they end up being amusingly clever, but other times they become too powerful in gameplay.

As a long-time gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I must admit that I’ve never seen such a perplexing and frustrating situation as the one we find ourselves in with the latest updates to Crypto in Season 22. It seems like even the world champion himself, ImperialHal, is struggling to grasp the new changes to this character’s abilities, which render him completely invisible. The gaming community has been vocal about their dissatisfaction and calls for nerfs, but it appears that these pleas have fallen on deaf ears. It’s a challenging time for us players as we try to adapt to these unexpected developments in the game, and I can only hope that the developers take our concerns seriously and make adjustments to ensure a more level playing field.

In most cases, ImperialHal leads the way with entertaining character choices in batting contests, criticizing the “dull” personalities introduced in Season 21 before.

In their recent Ranked match, Hal was taken aback when he seemed to hit an invisible barrier. However, upon further consideration, he realized that it wasn’t a wall at all – Crypto, much like Harry on his way to Hagrid’s hut, was hidden by an invisibility cloak.

Hal needed roughly 15 seconds to figure out that the seemingly “invisible wall” was in fact an enemy Crypto, which caused him to break into laughter uncontrollably and angrily denounce the absurd confrontation.

Crypto’s stealthiness left Mirage in utter disgrace, since his immobile control over the drone barely reveals any trace of his persona. All one can discern is the controller, though it appears somewhat transparent.

On Reddit, gamers are already voicing their criticism towards Crypto, with many suggesting an urgent balance adjustment, as a popular discussion thread has been flooded with such requests. One player expressed his confusion, stating “I can’t fathom how Respawn believed this would be well-received.”

In my years of gaming, I’ve come to learn that balance is key. As a seasoned player, I can’t help but feel exasperated when game developers overstep the line with unrealistic abilities like full invisibility for heroes. I mean, honestly, what were they thinking? With ratting being such a prevalent issue in many games already, granting a hero such an ability just seems like pouring fuel on an existing fire. It’s not about enjoying the game anymore; it becomes a test of endurance and patience.

It appears that an issue has arisen, as some players are employing Crypto to remain undetected throughout the entire game, instead of actively participating in the gameplay. They’re more focused on scouting locations from their hidden positions, rather than engaging in the intended gameplay.

Unfortunately, it seems that the initial effort by Respawn to breach the creative barrier for more characters hasn’t been successful; instead, their attempt appears to have merely bounced their tool right back at them.
