In a past interview with Bollywood Hungama, when asked about whether Alia Bhatt first appeared in Sangharsh or Biwi No. 1, Varun explained it was Sangharsh. He also shared that while many are unaware of this fact, Alia had auditioned for Biwi No. 1 as well. He stated, “You see, the song ‘Muje Maaf Karna,’ Alia sang it really well even in her childhood, and she was able to perform a live audition for that song too.” (because Alia could sing extremely well even when she was a child, and she managed to do a live audition for that particular song.)
