Rob Schneider Breaks Silence After Daughter Elle King Slammed His Parenting & 'Toxic' Views

As a movie reviewer with a soft spot for comedic actors who have faced their share of personal struggles, I must say that Rob Schneider‘s recent heartfelt apology to his daughter Elle King is both touching and commendable. It takes a lot of courage to admit one’s shortcomings, especially when they involve the relationship with your own child.

Rob Schneider has addressed Elle King’s critique of his recent views on drag and the LGBTQ+ community. After Elle’s discussion about their relationship and his opinions on Bunnie XO’s “Dumb Blonde” podcast, Schneider has now openly expressed his regret and asked for forgiveness. In a subsequent interview on the Tucker Carlson Show, he apologized for not being a good father, his actions, and his stance towards her. He also wished Elle well, stating that he “loves her unconditionally.”

“Let me express to my daughter Elle, it’s simply that I adore you, and if I could, I would have been the father for you in my twenties that you deserved. Sadly, that wasn’t the case. I can only hope for your forgiveness for my imperfections. Know that my love for you is absolute and all-encompassing.”

Although Schneider didn’t counter King’s opposition to his beliefs, he expressed remorse over the state of their relationship. Carlson then inquired as to why Schneider hadn’t retorted to his daughter’s criticisms. He explained that he cherishes King and wants her to be content and recover from this ordeal. He further mentioned that he doesn’t take her words to heart, and he deeply regrets how their troubled relationship unfolded.

“I just want you to be well and happy with you and your beautiful baby, Lucky.”

Rob Schneider responded to King’s statements about their relationship. She talked about feeling overshadowed on set, facing trouble if she interrupted filming, and shared difficulties with her weight and tattoos – issues that Rob has had concerns about.

“As a child, I was extremely overweight. My father enrolled me in a weight loss camp. However, one year, I injured my ankle and didn’t manage to shed any pounds, which led to trouble. Additionally, I had begun getting tattoos and it was scorching hot, around 108 degrees. As my father disapproved of tattoos or any form of self-expression, I had to wear sweaters to hide them.”

She further called him out about his opinions. “You’re talking out of your ass, and you’re talking sh*t about drag and, you know, anti-gay rights. And it’s like, get f*cked.” This comes after Schneider wrote a series of controversial tweets aimed at the 2024 Paris Olympics opening ceremony. The event featured an interpretation of Leonardo da Vinci’s “The Last Supper”, but instead of the usual image of Jesus and his disciples, drag queens took their place. In another tweet following the ceremony, he added that the show was a “disgusting attack on Christianity,” and “openly celebrates Satan.”

Lately, Schneider’s opinions have sparked a lot of debate and controversy. Notably, King made it clear that she has no plans to reconcile with her father, choosing instead to distance herself from him entirely. In her own words, “I have no intention of repairing my relationship with my father, and I want absolutely nothing to do with him.”

Through my own personal experiences, I have come to realize that it is all too easy to yearn for others to change in ways we deem beneficial or desirable. However, I have learned a hard-earned lesson: one cannot dictate another person’s actions or feelings. Life has shown me that the only things we truly possess control over are our own reactions and the way we manage our emotions. It is essential for us to remember this truth and focus on ourselves, rather than trying to change others, as it ultimately leads to a more peaceful and fulfilling life.

More recently, Rob Schneider appeared in Adam Sandler’s 2023 movie “Leo,” available on Netflix, and also helmed the directing role for the comedy film “Daddy Daughter Trip” (2023) with a touch of irony.
