Matthew Perry’s Stepfather Keith Morrison Looks Forward to “Justice” After Arrests in Death Investigation

As a gamer who has lost countless hours immersed in the world of “Friends”, it is heart-wrenching to learn about Matthew Perry’s untimely demise and the subsequent charges against those connected to his death. The news brings back memories of Ross Geller, Chandler Bing, Joey Tribbiani, and Phoebe Buffay, characters that brought joy, laughter, and comfort to countless fans like me.

Matthew Perry’s stepfather, Keith Morrison, has voiced his thoughts following the arrest of five individuals in relation to the passing of Matthew Perry in October 2023.

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but feel the pain that still grips my heart over the tragic loss of Matthew. Knowing that authorities are treating his case with utmost seriousness has provided some solace. I eagerly anticipate the pursuit of justice and am deeply grateful for the tireless efforts of the various law enforcement agencies who have diligently investigated Matthew’s death. I can only hope that this sends a clear message to those who recklessly peddle dangerous substances.

Perry tragically passed away on October 28th due to sudden complications from the powerful anesthetic ketamine, as indicated by an autopsy report released in December.

On Thursday, a group of law enforcement agencies revealed at a press conference in Los Angeles that five individuals have been indicted and charged for their roles in the investigation surrounding Perry’s death. Among these are Kenneth Iwamasa, Perry’s live-in assistant, along with doctors Salvador Plasencia and Mark Chavez, street drug dealer Erik Fleming, and Jasveen Sangha, who is also known as the “ketamine queen.”

During their investigation, authorities discovered a widespread, underground criminal group suspected of being responsible for Perry’s death. U.S. Attorney Martin Estrada stated at a press conference on Thursday, “These individuals exploited Mr. Perry’s addiction problems to accumulate wealth for themselves. They were well aware that their actions were wrong.”

Previously this year, Morrison – who tied the knot with Suzanne Perry, Perry’s mother, back in 1981 – shared his struggles during the months following Perry’s demise. “Much like others have said to me numerous times, it doesn’t simply fade away,” he expressed on the Making Space podcast in March. “It remains with you each day. It stays with you constantly.”

As a fan, I found myself captivated by an unexpected change in this story, one that struck me deeply. It wasn’t simple, especially considering his mom’s perspective. Back then, during the Dateline report, I wouldn’t dare spoil too much, but let me share this: their bond towards the end of his life was stronger than I had ever witnessed for decades. They were in constant contact via texts, and he confided in her things that most men of his age might not share with their mothers.

Morrison remarked that the actor from The Odd Couple was an extraordinarily vibrant individual, expressing that his presence still resonates powerfully in these surroundings.
