‘Reservoir Dogs’ Actor Michael Madsen Arrested on Domestic Violence Charge

As a long-time admirer of Michael Madsen’s work, I’ve always been intrigued by his tough guy persona on screen, particularly as Mr. Blonde in Reservoir Dogs and Budd in Kill Bill. However, recent news about his arrest on a domestic battery charge has left me feeling disheartened.

Actor Michael Madsen, known for his roles in “Reservoir Dogs” and “Kill Bill,” was taken into custody in Malibu, California for alleged domestic battery. He has since been released from jail.

On August 18th, the Los Angeles Sheriff Department reported that Michael Soren Madsen, aged 66, was taken into custody at around 1:40 a.m., following an arrest made 25 minutes prior for a domestic battery misdemeanor. He was admitted to the Malibu/Lost Hills Station after his apprehension.

I managed to post my $20,000 bond and walk out of the station, but there’s no word yet on when I’ll have to appear in court again. The accusation of domestic battery misdemeanor involves an allegation that I used force against someone I live with.

A conviction for a domestic battery misdemeanor can result in various penalties, including incarceration or a protective order that requires you to stay away from the victim.

Michael Madsen, an actor with over 200 films under his belt, has found himself typecast as a tough guy. He is most recognized for embodying the sinister role of Mr. Blonde in the movie “Reservoir Dogs,” and for portraying Budd, the messy sword-wielder, in both volumes of “Kill Bill.”

As a dedicated admirer, I can’t help but note that I’ve seen Madsen grace the screens in several masterpieces by the legendary Quentin Tarantino. The latest of these captivating collaborations was 2019’s “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.” Additionally, his presence was highlighted in the 2019 documentary, “QT8: The First Eight,” which delves into the rich tapestry of Tarantino’s work through insightful interviews with his esteemed cast.

The Hollywood Reporter reached out to Madsen’s reps for comment.
