As a seasoned adventurer with countless hours spent traversing the digital landscapes of various games, I must say, the secrets hidden within Black Myth: Wukong are truly a delight to uncover. The quest for the three bells across Black Wind Mountain has been an exhilarating challenge that tests both my combat skills and my keen eye for detail.
In the game Black Myth: Wukong, there are hidden secrets to discover that veer from the usual route. The first chapter conceals a secret area and a boss, should you manage to find and ring three distinct bells scattered across Black Wind Mountain.
How to find the three bells
Bell 1
The first bell is located at the back of the arena where you fight Guangzhi.
To get to this battle, make your way from outside the Forest Sanctuary. Proceed straight ahead and turn left where you encounter two adversaries. Then, continue up the path that curves right, following it all the way to the wooden bridge guarded by an archer.
Traverse the bridge, continue along the path towards the flames flanking you, then pass beneath the arch to enter the arena, initiating the scene where Guangzhi appears.
After defeating him, head to the back to interact with the bell and ring it.
Bell 2
In the upcoming part of the story, you’ll have to confront Guangmou, who can’t be missed on your journey. I won’t offer guidance on locating him since he’s a compulsory boss along the main route.
After he gets beaten, instead of exiting via the right-hand arch as you come in, take the path up the stone stairs at the rear of the arena instead.
At the top of this path, you can ring the bell.
Bell 3
Bell three is right after the very next mandatory boss – the Whiteclad Noble.
After overpowering him, proceed along the winding pathway flanked by towering cliff edges, and veer left instead. You will eventually find yourself in a cozy nook or hollow.
First, let’s take care of these adversaries nearby. Once they’re defeated, you can then activate the third bell which will initiate a cutscene and grant you an achievement.
Secret area explained
After the final bell tolls, you’ll find yourself magically whisked away to the antiquated Guanyin Temple, a hidden location that bears a striking resemblance to an aged and less maintained version of the Guanyin Temple you had previously explored.
Within, there lies a Shrine and several chests. The chest nearest contains Guanyin’s Prayer Beads – an armor accessory for your arm – and assorted resources.
Once you climb the staircase at the rear and unlock the door, you’ll have the choice to engage in a challenging battle with Elder Jinchi.
After overpowering him and reappearing nearby the last gong, you’ll have the chance to engage with the suspended wolf and obtain the Fireproof Mantle Vessel, a handy skill for the concluding boss battle of chapter one.
